A little missing scene from the fantastic 213
Arthur walked with Merlin down the ramparts he took a deep breath taking in the smell of Camelot for what he felt was the last time.
As he was nearing the courtyard when he saw Guinevere appear at the end of the corridor, he didn't know how to tell her he was going off but by the looks of her face she already knew. She waited for him.
Merlin noticed her "I will gather the knights and see you shortly" he said and walked out onto the courtyard.
Arthur walked with Guinevere to a secluded corner, she turned to face him.
"I could not let you go without wishing you luck" she said placing a hand on his cheek, he closed his eyes and leaned into her hand.
"I was going to find you, but I couldn't stand saying goodbye" he said honestly and he opened his eyes, when he looked at her, his heart nearly broke, her eyes swam with a million different emotions. He lifted her hand reluctantly off of his face and kissed it. He lowered her hand and kept her fingers entwined within his.
"Don't say its goodbye, there are so many things yet to be said" she said looking down.
He stroked a curl away from her face and leaned in and placed a kiss on her head.
"You once told me to live for you Guinevere and I promise I will do everything in my power to keep that promise". He said honestly.
"I will hold you to that" she said. They looked at each other and like a magnet they felt like they were being drawn in until they were disturbed by a clearing of the throat.
They both turned around to see Merlin with a big grin.
"The knights are ready" he said.
Arthur looked like he would kill him.
Gwen noticed Merlin had a sword in his hand "You are going as well?" she said.
"Well someone has to protect him" he said gesturing at Arthur.
Gwen smiled and gave him a big hug whispering in his ear "You both come back to me" she said and kissed him on the cheek.
Arthurs face was a look of disgust and Merlin just smiled and turned to leave.
Arthur turned to Guinevere "I will see you later" he said.
"You had better" she said and his hand gentle touched her.
He nodded and left. She sighed as she watched him leave.
As he walked with Merlin he clipped him around the back of the head.
"Great timing MERLIN" he said slightly annoyed
"Well I got a kiss" Merlin said joking
He stopped and turned around to face him "If the dragon doesn't kill you I will" he said poking him .
Guinevere just watched this interaction from the ramparts and smiled.
