She looked so soft.
It was just a small, close lipped smile, a crack in her mask and it went by too fast that he has wonder whether or not he simply imagined it. Nonetheless, he's stunned, even if just for a moment.
Her smile was pretty, he thinks as she turns and he reaches out instinctively as if he has more to say, but stops his hand midair. He gives his head a firm shake as to pull himself from his stupefied state, retracting his hand as he does so. Besides, he doesn't want to deter her from her cooking.
Leaning back on one of the counters, he watches the blonde mutter under her breath numerous ingredients and he makes a mental note of them in the back of his mind. She was going to make something absolutely amazing and the redhead believed in that wholeheartedly. He raises a hand, scratching his cheek absentmindedly only to find a small smile pulling at his features.
Why not smile, he reasons internally, the grin broadening with each passing second as he watches her nod her head with what seemed to be finality. He's visibly caught off guard when she turns to him, spouting out commands and he's quick to latch on (although a bit bewildered by the unmistakable sparkle in her eye). Then she turns her back to him once more and he finds that his grin is quick to return when she opens her mouth to address him again.
He catches sight of the new filled determination on her face.
You're going to be my arms and legs.
He let the words echo in his mind.
"Ten minutes left!"
He doesn't waste time as he is quick to push his sleeves as she barks out further orders
"Roger boss!"
And he's grinning as he says it.
A/N How was it? I wrote this at 3am and cleaned it up a little. I have tons of unfinished works piling up in my notebooks and binder and decided 'what the heck' and went ahead and posted this thing. This is my second attempt at posting a fanfic (I took down the first one due to needing to disappear for a while, nothing too serious).
Long story short, I just thought it'd be cute to explore just what the heck goes on in Soma's head.
