A/N: Quick one shot I wrote a while ago and just edited tonight figured I'd upload it. Might continue this as a drabble series of one shots and things… might not I'm unsure. What do you think? Little bit of an AU no set point in the timeline… besides after Sasuke's return.
In that moment her heart stopped, in that moment she died with every hit to his body that he took, and in that moment without a sound she cried. Silently sobbing seeing the man she loved fall to the ground, she was too far away to hear what he said but she started running towards him. She was stopped by someone but in that moment she didn't care and struggled free, the tears streaming down her face, vision blurred, yet she did not care. A few others tried to stop her and she let out a scream towards him. She saw Naruto, her best friend look at her, he was crying too. She broke free from their grips and nearly fell beside him crying, she looked at him her tears flowing freely down the skin of her face and onto the ground yet she didn't wipe them away. She looked at him and he gave a soft smile towards her, she grabbed his hand and he gave a weak squeeze almost like he hadn't done anything at all. She bent down placing her forehead on his and still cried silently.
"Don't go… you promised you wouldn't leave me Sasuke… not again." she whispered and kissed his lips softly, she tasted the blood but didn't care he barley responded to her action.
"I'm sorry Sakura… will you forgive me?" he asked and she nodded.
"Of course I will… I always will…" she replied and kissed him again. Inside she was dying just as he was, she was a medic… she knew there was no way in hell he would survive this, there were too many hits in to many vital places.
"I love you Sakura, don't forget that." He squeezed her hand ever so softly. "But this is goodbye my dear." He choked out hoarsely. She too let out a chocked sob, the first real sob noise she uttered.
"I love you too Sasuke… I won't ever forget that… I don't want to say it but I'll only regret it if I don't." she spoke the last part quickly as to not waist the little time she had left. "Goodbye Sasuke-kun…" she whispered and his eyes closed moments later, the soft grip on her hand faded, and the last breath left his body. She moved the hair from his face and wiped away the blood. She kissed his forehead softly still crying without a sound.
"You will be free now…" she whispered and felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked and saw Naruto who knelt down and she cried into his chest, every sob, every whimper, every sound she had held back came out now as she fought to breathe. Each sob a shutter, working its way through her entire body like a violent crash. She didn't remember what happened after it was all a blur to her. When she woke up she cried again whispering to herself.
"If I was stronger I could have saved him. I'm always the weak one and now it came to bite me in the ass." She whimpered and curled up into a ball.
End- like I said I wrote this a while ago… its super short I know. But I might make this a drabble series? Thoughts?
