"Are you here?" Annabeth whispers in the dark.
"Yeah, I'm here," a voice replies. Annabeth blindly reaches out in front of her and took the hand that was outstretched.
"Good," she says. "I was afraid you might have forgotten." The voice chuckles.
"Forget you? The amazing Annabeth Chase? Impossible!" The voice declares. Annabeth laughs and shushes it.
"They may hear us!" She tells it. "The Argo II has thin floorboards!" She whispers as she continues to laugh. Jason steps out into the light and hugs her.
"Nah, everyone is sleeping except Leo, and he's in his own little world."
"Still!"
"Hm?"
"He could hear us…"
"Oh…him…." Annabeth nods. She feels bad about it. She and Percy had been through so much together, the mortal world, Olympus; even Tartarus; but she couldn't help it. Sure; Percy had had his moments were he would cut back the sarcasm and do something sweet, but Jason somehow found a way to be sweet and sarcastic at the same time without it being annoying. Jason somehow is always able to make her smile; even when she doesn't want to. He doesn't make everything one big joke and laugh through it, but he doesn't take everything too seriously either. He is the perfect balance, the exact solution to Annabeth's problem. Lately Percy seemed to be in a daze, always thinking about Calypso and how she was "sweet to him", "never talked back to him", and "always knew just what to say". Piper and Leo have become very friendly lately. Hazel and Frank are inseparable. So why should Annabeth and Jason being together be a problem? Annabeth and Percy aren't technically broken up yet. Yet. Annabeth planned to break up with him soon…and wouldn't have gone through Tartarus playing the part of the loving girlfriend had she been dumb. She was acting the whole time in Tartarus. She didn't love Percy. She was smart, though. Smart enough to know that Percy would be needed later for the quest, and he wouldn't have been able to make it through Tartarus without her. So she went with him, played along, and is finally now happy in Jason's loves arms. Jason bends down and gently kisses her. She smiles, happy to have found someone for her. Forget Percy. She thinks to herself. Jason is the one for me.
