Heero stared at the figure in front of him, pathetic and desperate yet meeting his eyes.
It's just one more life, just like he'd told himself when he'd started.
It's just one life.
One more in a long line.
Just one more soldier. The light glinted off the barrel of the gun in his hand.
A worthless life.
A soldier with nothing left to live for… then why was there hope in the eyes? Even as the barrel was raised it wavered.
He was Heero Yuy, he'd killed before, never hesitated before, what was the life of just one more soldier who'd seen too much.
All it is is one more life.
Surely he could bring himself to take it. Finger on the trigger, safety off.
What's one life worth? What difference can one life make? But he knew the answer to that already.
One last life.
Heero stared at himself in the mirror.
Surely he could do it.

A body without a soul wasn't worth much anyway.
