So it's 12:31 in the morning, and I cannot sleep. I decided to write, and this is what I got. It's based on the song Permanent Market by Taylor Swift. This takes place right after Finn breaks up with Rachel in Hell-o. I apologize if it sucks, I'm tired. I think I portrayed Rachel's super manipulative mind well, given my current state of mind. I think that the way she thinks in this is logical, and is probably what drove her to sing 'Gives You Hell'. I don't know. I'm surprised that I could even write anything Finchel related right now. I hate their relationship this season. They were so much better in Season One.
Rachel squinted her eyes to prevent the inevitable tears from slipping out of her eyes. Finn had just broken up with her, because he needed to 'find his self'. Why can't he realize that I can help him do that? She thought. I'm the one he needs, not that Quinn Fabray. Rachel hoped with every fiber or her being that Finn wasn't going back to that cheating, lying bitch. Quinn wasn't good for him, she wasn't good for anybody.
Finn has a fragile heart, and Rachel realized that. He let his emotions get carried away too easily, and if Quinn had actually cared about him then maybe she would have realized that too. Maybe she wouldn't have cheated and got pregnant with Noah's, of all people's, baby. But Rachel was getting ahead of herself. Quinn's cheating was good thing. It had helped Finn realize that he deserved better than Quinn, he deserved someone like Rachel. Rachel genuinely cared about him, while Quinn only cared about her image.
I hate that girl. Rachel thought bitterly to herself as she wiped the tears from her eyes. She ruins everything for me. Rachel wasn't jealous of Quinn (why would she want to be like her?), she just didn't understand why everything bad in her life seemed to be Quinn's doing. Rachel and Finn were happy together, and they would still be if it weren't for Finn's shattered self confidence. And whose fault was that? Quinn's.
"She has no right." Rachel grumbled under her breath. "No right at all to mess with his heart like that." She angrily yanked her books out of her locker and stormed down the hall to the choir room.
Sure, their breakup may be all Quinn's fault, but she needed to make sure Finn regretted it so he would want her back. He needed to see that she would be fine on her own because she has been for all her life, and she knows how to be independent. Finn is entirely dependent on others; he has always had a girlfriend. He needs Rachel, and hopefully he will realize this. As soon as he does then they can get back together and work on erasing the giant 'X' Quinn put through his heart. They can put him back together again. But first, she needed to tear him down. Make him vulnerable so he will be begging for her to take him back. She'd put him through hell for what he'd done. And oh boy, was Finn gonna get it.
Yeah, it's short. Review?
