Life At Camp
Chapter 1
"As anyone seen my slippers?" asked Caitlyn.
"Caitlyn, we don't sleep in the same cabin as you. How would we see your slippers?" asked Mitchie, laughing.
Caitlyn laughed. "Because we sat on the deck on Nate's yesterday and I was wearing them."
"You left them at my cabin. You changed into your shoes to walk to the mess-hall," said Nate.
"Oh," said Caitlyn. "I'm just going to go get them."
"My cabin's locked," smirked Nate.
"Well come open it then," said Caitlyn, racing off.
Shaking his head and smiling Nate raced about her.
"Why would she leave her slippers at Nate's?" asked Mitchie.
"There are best friends," shrugged Peggy.
Everyone shrugged and continued talking not noticing that it took Nate and Caitlyn a good twenty minutes to return with the slippers. Nor noticing that their hair was slightly mused and their lips slightly swollen.
The dying light slowly gave way to darkness and the group headed to the cabins. The girls to theirs, Jason to his and Shane to his. Again no one observant enough to notice Nate and Caitlyn headed off to one cabin – together.
The next morning.
"Caity you need to get up now," whispered Nate.
Caitlyn groaned, opened her eyes and glanced at the clock. "It's 8.00am."
"Yeah but you're helping Mitchie in the kitchen at ten past," answered Nate.
"I'm tired," she mumbled, burrowing her head into Nate's chest.
"When you need to be asleep you're awake and when you need to be awake you're asleep," sighed Nate.
"Hey it wasn't my fault I couldn't sleep last night," smiled Caitlyn.
"Um I beg to differ. It was you who decided drinking coke at eleven was a good idea," said Nate.
"But it was you let me watch a movie until half past midnight," pointed out Caitlyn.
"Fine agree to disagree," answered Nate. "Now come on up I'm coming with you I need to check my sugar and get my insulin."
"Come on then," smiled Caitlyn, getting up.
"Oh so for my diabetes you'll get up but for you you'd rather not?" asked Nate.
"Yeah," said Caitlyn. "My health isn't potentially at state in not getting up and going to the kitchen yours is."
"But I can't use the excuse tomorrow right?" asked Nate.
"Nope tomorrow you just get up and go. Leave me here and come back," said Caitlyn, as they walked out of the door.
Nate smiled and shouted. "Race ya!" Before he took off Caitlyn hot on his heels.
