The Gift of a Friend
The Gift of a Friend
I remember the day
That she passed on,
From one world to another
As I see her white wings,
Plink, a traitorous tear
Slides down my cheek
You sneak a glance at me
From the corner of your eye,
You see that tear fall
Then I lost my all,
It's the Gift of a Friend
That called you to me
Slump, I slide down to the
Ground, my hands upon my face,
My hair hides my emotions
I feel like I owe you so much,
You listen to me,
Take in all my troubles,
For you were like the big sister that I never had
You were my shoulder to cry on,
You were my diary,
You were my little box of secrets,
Where only I had the key
Even though you were there,
And I was all the way here,
You were still there for me,
You made me feel better,
Even though we were
What felt like
Hundreds of miles apart,
You still understood me with my emotions in a text
I smile faintly, a very weak smile
But knowing you, you won't care
No matter what
You are always there for me,
You waited politely until I was
Done
I tried to keep up
My appearance,
But 10 seconds after,
I didn't care
You told me jokes, texting them to me
Some were crummy, some good, some hilarious,
And some, just plain terrible
Until I cried of laughter
After all it's a Gift of a Friend
That called you to me
Nothing can
EVER
Beat the Gift, Not even sorrow, embarrassment,
Hatred
For, the Gift of a Friend is the most powerful
Of
All
