Well, I decided since I gave Zim two poems already, (and a minor explanation at that), that it was Dib's turn to get a poem. This one is much more metaphorical than my other ones, ut is shouldn't be too hard to understand.
Hope you enjoy and remember: If you write on , you are not Jhonen Vasquez who owns Invader Zim. Don't even kid yourself.
I looked down the path
It was laid out and clear
As if the surrounding trees had been pushed away
To make an opening for the beaten footpath
Endless people traveled down the trail
It was the direction everyone went.
They claimed it was the right way, and the only way
To reach our destination
I was not told different
So I knew not different
I followed in their steps
To the asserted 'destination'
It was on that day of walking
That I by chance happened to see
An opening in the trees
Which revealed a second path
Curiosity claimed me
And dragged me towards the bramble gap
Even when the public turned and looked
As if I was no longer human
The branches were bent over
As if trying to conceal
A secret of very nature
Hidden from ignorant citizens
I moved the leaf covered limbs
To examine the enigma before me
A rugged and cluttered path
Untainted by the stain of footprints
I breathed in the air that was made of pure vigor
While wondering if there was more to see
So even while I felt the burn of heated stares
I ducked under the foliage to continue my inspection
I emerged in a world that knew not of narcissism
Or cruelty, or anything of the like
It only understood majesty brilliance
And an always enveloping peace
Sunlight danced upon the upturned leaves
To the sound of light hearted birds
While water drops jumped towards the earth
To sleep among the beds of dirt
Eyes open in awe
As I continued down the path
It seemed this location was hand made
For me and only me
A commotion ripped me from my enchantment
So I turned around to see
A group had gathered around the entrance
But none dared to follow me
They were calling me back
Said I was going the wrong way
Called me nuts and crazy
To be led astray
The comments and insults stung
Like the harpoon of an irked bee
But like with bugs I swatted them aside
And circled back to my paradise
My heart became dizzy from vitality
While I snapped into a run
Ignoring the taunts and warnings
As I ran down the path to my own destination
