Disclaimer: I am not a poet. Any resemblance this piece may have to actual poetry is purely coincidental. Just think of this as regular prose that happens to rhyme in a couple of places. Oh - and I don't own Kuroshitsuji.

A Last Curiosity

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

I'll never tell a soul.

In just a moment I'll forget

How to think,

How to breathe,

How it feels to regret.

And it's such a small favor to ask

To let

Me learn this one thing –

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

I know that smile by now.

I happen to think I deserve this one

Last favor,

Last answer,

Last small duty done.

It's just something I had to ask

For fun.

It's simple and harmless –

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

Don't shake your head like that.

Don't comfort me like I'm in pain,

Like I don't

Really know

All that you stand to gain.

It's something that's clung to my mind

Like a stain.

Oh, but it's such a small thing –

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

You owe me this, at least.

I'll never learn so many things,

Not that you

Ought to care

Since you'll just lift your wings

And fly off to take everything your future

Brings.

And it's all just so easy,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

It's the one last chance I'll have.

I don't expect you'll understand

That my thoughts

And my mind

Are deserting me, and

To you, everything is exactly as

Planned,

But for me, it's all over.

Isn't it.

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

A last request of mine.

A last request of mine, to you

Just in case

You might feel

Like you owe me this, too.

And of course, I never will know if

It's true.

But I guess that's the whole point, now,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

Who were you before we met?

Where are you from, where will you go

When at last

I'm resigned

To my life dimming low

And your eyes come alive with that terrible

Glow

But no – it's a secret, still,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

I've never doubted you.

Not even now that you're set free

And there's nothing

To stop you

Collecting your fee

And it never has mattered what happens

To me,

But it's just such a small thing –

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

A brief and calm goodbye.

It's just, I've never known for sure

The volume

Of fear that

My soul can endure.

And I never will ask of you anything

More –

But I guess this is all hopeless,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

Before the blackness comes.

Before the forest and the sky

With their blue

And their green

To my darkening eye

Start to vanish along with the crow's lonely

Cry –

But this plea is a game to you,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

I know you're laughing now.

I had the feeling you'd refuse

To make me

A gift of

The last thing I'll lose.

And your name was the first thing I ever did

Choose

When we met. So it's fitting, then,

Isn't it?

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?

The clock has stopped, at last.

My time is gone, my speech is through

And it hurts

To think back

When we both of us knew

That revenge was a tightrope for me, and

For you.

And the great fall is all that's left.

Isn't it.

Tell me your name, Sebastian.

Please?
