Sakura looked to the setting sun as tears fell from her light green eyes. Her pink hair blew in the warm summer breeze.
"Sakura, why are you…crying?" Sai asked sitting next to her. "Has someone hurt you?" Sakura's gaze didn't falter nor did she even acknowledge him at first. "Was it Naruto?"
"No Sai, it was you." Her voice was shaky and weak.
"What have I done?" He asked, truly shocked, many things had happened but he couldn't recall hurting Sakura.
"I…we almost lost you, Sai." She said looking down at the water below them. Her red shirt was slightly ripped and her pink skirt was tattered and torn. Sai's shaggy black hair hide his sad dark eyes. His shirt had been ripped clean off.
"In the battle?" Sai asked dumbly, surprised she was actually crying for him.
"Yes, Kisame's water shark bullet technique almost killed you!" She snapped angerly. Sai could see her face in the crystal water. Sad and yet some how angry.
"Sakura…"
"No Sai I can't lose you ever! We can't lose you!" She cried. "We have lost to much already!"
"Sakura, I'm…Um…I'm…"
"Sorry, that's the word you're looking for." Naruto said, taking his place next to Sakura. Naruto's jacket was lying over a tree and his pants were very dirty. "We fought hard and lived. That's the important part!" Naruto sighed. A smile claimed Sakura's face.
"You guys are a great team." Kakashi said proudly.
"Thank you master Kakashi." Naruto said, happily.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Sakura knocked timidly on the door. Sai pulled it open slowly. Her body tensed up as she saw him. Why did he make her feel this way?
"Sakura?" Sai asked puzzled.
"Um…"
"All you alright?" Sai couldn't understand why she was acting so small, insignificant.
"May I come in?" She asked, quietly.
"Sure." He said stepping out of her way. "Why have you come so late?" The sun had gone down about four hours ago. He was in his sleeping pants and the sheets on his bed were scattered and messed up from where he had lay on them.
"Um…. I just wanted to check on you…" She lied, feeling scared and unimportant.
"I'm alright. Um…thank you?" He pasted that fake smile on his face.
"You're getting better at the feeling thing." Sakura smiled and blushed. "I guess I'll be going now." She said as she walked over to him.
"Bye." He said kindly. Sakura hesitated for a second and then she wrapped her arms around his neck, gently pressing her lips to his. Sai stood in complete shock. Sakura pulled away quick and turned to run away, embarrassed and pink. Sai grabbed her arm and stopped her. "Sakura…why did you do that?"
"Uh…let me go!" Sakura growled. But Sai didn't listen at all.
"Sakura…did you come to tell me something?" He asked, pulling her easily back to him.
"Y-y-yes." She whispered.
"Do you ….?" She knew what question he was implying. And she nodded. Sai looked down.
"Sakura…I-"
"I get it you don't like me…" She said looking out the black window.
"No, that's not it Sakura. I… I don't know how?" He said feeling a little embarrassed himself.
"Well…you could start like this." She said as she kissed him again, this time she put his arms around her and ran her fingers through his hair. Sai attempted to kiss her back; this attempt ended the kiss, Sakura laughed a little.
Kakashi watched from the window with a little surprise at the fact Sakura and Sai were kissing.
"Finally, she has left her torturous love of Sasuke behind…and moved on." Kakashi proudly walked away.
