Scarred, bruised , bloody, and unbelievably scared. She waited, she wondered. Would he come? Was he dead? No he couldn't be, not after what they had shared the night before. The thought was too gruesome to pursue. It couldn't already be over, it had barely just begun. She knew it could be beautiful, it would be beautiful. These were times of war, still, she held on to her hope that soon she'd be free to live a normal life with her love. But for now she waited for him, scarred, bruised, and bloody.
She remembered the night before. She had never felt such passion with a man before. Although she was only 19, she felt she had a pretty good idea of what love was. What they had was real.
'I don't know why I'm choosing now to tell you this...I'm such an idiot' , he told her. He had surprised her in her apartment, and was now leaning in close to her as they sat on the couch. She didn't know why he was there, but having him so close made her feel like she was on fire.
'You see, I have come to the recent realization that I am completely and madly in love with you, in fact, I have been for about two years now.', as he said this she tried to interrupt. She wanted to explode with happiness, she wanted to shout out that she loved him too, that she always had, no matter who she dated to forget about him. Unfortunately for her, he would not so easily be interrupted.
He continued, ' This is probably one of the most foolish things I have ever done, there's a war going on, we don't know if any of us will even make it, but I just wanted you to know that I love you. Right now, in this moment, I love you. I can't promise you forever, hell, I can't even promise myself a tomorrow, but we have tonight...we can always share tonight. I honestly can't say I have any expectations, I don't care if anything happens. At the very least I just want to sit here and hold you, if only for tonight', she could see the tears threatening to fall from his beautiful green eyes. She was in complete shock, she reacted on impulse.
She kissed him. And it was the single best moment in her life. Or it would have been if it wasn't for what followed their passionate kiss. That was the single best moment of her life.
They were completely lost in each other. Grabbing for whatever they could. Leaving clothes scattered as he carried her to her bedroom. He wanted to kiss every inch of her. She wanted to feel every inch of him.
After what seemed like hours of making love, they lay in her comfortable bed together. She sighed happily in his harms. He kissed her on top of her head.
'I love you too, more than you could ever imagine', she said to him.
That was last night. So many things had happened since last night. Voldemort had launched his final attack and now she waited for him in St- Mungo's , scarred, bruised, and bloody.
"Hey you..", that was his voice, it had to be. Her head shot up and turned towards the direction the voice had come from. There he was. He had a broken leg, but he was there. That was all that mattered.
She flew into his arms and kissed him hard. When she pulled back she was sobbing. He wore a sad smile. They had lost friends and family. But they had each other.
He kissed her again.
"I love you Hermione"
"I love you too Fred"
