Neville and Luna sat quietly in the library, perched on a table, their hands entwined. They both looked up, just for a second, and smiled briefly before turning back to their books. Neville sighed inwardly, a slight grin spreading across his face as he did.
'I must be the luckiest person alive.' He thought to himself. They had been dating now for just over 5 months and it already felt like they were meant to be together. But there was one problem. Luna had a few friends apart from Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione, but they and Neville never quite saw eye to eye. They thought that he was stifling her creativity, trapping her like a bird in a cage. They tried to get along but it was hard. He whispered something softly into her ear and her sparkling blue eyes lit up as a sweet smile crept onto her face. She turned round and their lips met, just for a second, before turning away again and carrying on reading.
Luna woke up late the next day, knowing that in a few hours she would be with Neville again. She got up, got washed and dressed before sitting down at the large mahogany table to eat. Her father had already left for work, leaving a note on the table, and the house always seemed so big when he was out. She picked up the note and silently read it then went to get ready for her date.
She met Neville by the side of the lake, her shiny blonde hair blowing in the light breeze. As he walked over to her, the pale blue moonlight shone on his face, showing his deep scars. They sat down by the side of the lake and stayed huddled together for warmth. He put his arm around her and she could smell the sweet vanilla smell that always reminded her of him.
They talked for hours, the sky growing darker and the moon casting a ghostly blue shadow over everything. It was truly magical.
"I love you Luna." Neville said softly to her.
"I love you too." She replied smiling. Their lips met again, only this time for longer and as he pulled away, she could taste the kiss on her lips.
'He's so adorable.' She thought. She smiled. Everything was perfect.
