A/N : September seems so very far away and I kept seeing and replaying the last few scenes of the finale… Did you hear the way Steve called out Danny's name…or the haunted look on his face…. "Steve?... Put the gun down…."
Steve looked to the gun held in his hand…. His vision was blurry still and his neck more than just stung! What the hell happened?
"…Wasn't me Chin… It was Wo Fat…." His voice sounded different to his own ears… what the hell was happening… What did Chin just say…. No one in the f****** house… Did he expect Wo Fat to linger about after committing murder… Seriously? And what the hell….! Chin was reading him rights… the cuffs chaffed against his flesh… What the hell was wrong with everyone? His head hurt, his throat burned ad his vision was still a bit fuzzy… Danno… where was Danno… Danno would know…. Danno always knew… he always had his back…. But he had thought Chin did too… what if Danno too…
"Hey… hey… Chin…" Danny's voice broke through to him.
"Danny…." Steve needed his Danno… Did his voice break? No matter what people said about him being Super Seal and all… he was just as good as a lost boy without Danny… Danny was his best friend… a brother he always wanted but never had… Danny was his conscience… the one person who could set him right without taking a step back… yet the one person who wouldn't ever let him down…. Danny was Steve's ohana. Steve needed every step of the way…He wondered how he had survived before Danno came along… it was like he was missing a part of himself….
"It was Wo Fat…" Steve wanted to scream but his voice didn't sound as strong. "It was Wo Fat, Danny…" Did Danno hear him? What the hell was Chin saying? Five-0 was no more… but… no…how did it go so wrong…? He should've listened to Danny… Danny always had a level and cool head no matter how he loved to rant… he should have listened…. Now, without Five-0, Wo Fat would walk free… Would Danny leave like Chin did … No, he was Danny… but he could… Steve knew the crap he had put Danny through but Danny was ohana… but did Danno know what he meant to Steve?...
The soft knocks following a 'Hey' brought Steve back… Dany was looking at him… "Hey… listen to me… I'm gonna get you out of this thin', k?"
Steve swallowed the lump back… He wanted to nod… to say something in return… but he just looked at Danno… his Danno… and kept looking… because Super Seal or not, Steve needed his Danno… because Danny was Steve's only lifeline… his trust… Oia'i'o…
