This first memory I ever had was crying on the blood-stained ground. My toddler hands pounding on the marrow of the evil and the brave and the innocent.
I was all alone.
I never met my mother. She died long ago, when our people were dispersed and rejected and killed, treated like pigs, and lived in shame and fear of others whom harm us due to our being different.
I was incredibly weak at that time, with no support. I had been given the land of Palestine to call my own. And big sister Palestine was not happy.
She had constantly started wars with me and refused to even talk about peace between our peoples.
I was alone, scared, with no support. I was dying, little by little, when a miracle happened.
"Hey Britain! Check this out!" The voice of a young man came from the distance. I
was able to turn my wet weary eyes to the source and I saw two forms in the distance. One was running towards me and the other was struggling to keep up.
"Wait America! I don't know if I can run as fast as you! Wait, what's the child doing all alone out here?" The other called.
The first man picked up my weak body and carried me in his arms. "Poor little dude." He whispered, cradling me.
"America, what happ-oh!" The other man walked to where I was being held. He looked at who must be, America and America nodded at him.
"She's weak, very weak, and so little." The other man, Britain shook his head with pity. "Poor thing."
America looked at Britain with a face of a sadness. "But...but she still has a chance right?"
Britain sighed. "That's God's decision. I'm afraid I can't answer that. But this is a cruel world and in this bad neighborhood (the Middle East) I don't know if the chances are good. She's surrounded by everyone who didn't want her here in the first place. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea."
America stamped his foot and glared at the shorter figure. "Don't say that.! We promised them! We fucking promised them!"
Britain sighed. "Fine, she'll have my support."
America smiled. "Good. Now Israel, I'm going to protect you and help you. You'll never be alone again. I promise." He whispered to me.
And from that day on, he has kept his promise. He helped me and raised me like I was his own. He claimed that I was his independent little sister and he cared about me. But I know there is something deeper than that between us. He loves me like I am a bee and he is pollen. We're meant to be together. And the best part is: I feel the same way.
Okay guys, it's me, i'm taking a little break from my HetaliaXGlee fic (don't worry, I will come back to it) and working on this for awhile. Keep in mind that I am Jewish so if I say something that offends Israelis or Jews, It's my own personal feelings and I have nothing against either of you.
