it comes with the territory

It's just an innocent little question; just a silly, stupid, immature question commonly asked among boys in sports teams: Who's got the biggest dick? Rio doesn't know who's started the conversation but it makes its way to the back of the bus, where he and Junta are sitting. The Tosei baseball club has determined it won't lose so easily again next year during the summer Koshien so they're starting training early and the third years are exempt to study for university entrance exams.

"Well, for sure, it can't be a first year." They cast pitying glances at Rio, who bristles indignantly as Junta laughs. Who knows, maybe a first year can be more developed than second years or third years…! But it's not in his place to say so. And if it proves not to be true, he doesn't want to pick the fight. Roka-nii would kill if him he found out he got in a fight over something so childish.

The Tosei boys are modest – modesty is important in a Christian school environment – so everything is based on speculation.

"Does anyone know cup sizes?"

"Maybe it's Matsunaga-san; he's certainly got a big enough nose."

"Probably it's to make up for something else entirely."

Somehow the raucous laughter doesn't alert any of the coaches, because they do not come and scold them for indecency. But then of course, it comes with the territory. Boys are supposed to talk about things like this. Just when Rio thinks the conversation is over, that they'll go back to talking about normal things like baseball, Junta opens his mouth and says, "Kazuki-san's pretty big."

The entire team turns and stares at him, which makes Rio a little uncomfortable to be sitting next to him. He can almost see the unanimous thought hovering over their heads, a pink sugary married couple idea. Junta cocks his head with a bemused look on his face.

"What? Get your heads out of the gutter. I've had to look there for his signals for the past year."

This is a satisfying enough answer for the team, who begin to talk among themselves about Kazuki, he was the captain and the smartest player on the team right, where is he going next year? Rio juts his lip out at the chatter and glances over at Junta, who doesn't know he's being watched, because he's looking out the window of the bus with a coy little smile on his face and he licks his lips.

Rio doesn't normally get carsick, but he has to lie down for the rest of the way to the camp.
