Chapter 1
As usual the crew were hanging out at Tool's. They'd just got back from a particularly tough job in Asia. An arms dealer had managed to get hold of a chip which contained the coordinates of some plutonium. Fortunately, it was no longer in his possession thanks to Ross and his crew. The beer was now flowing and the guys were unwinding.
"It was a great shot! Come on!" Gunnar bellowed, taking a swig of his pint.
"Yeah, real smooth Jenson!" Christmas laughed, smacking him on the back and grabbing a beer. The guys laughed.
"Right I'm gonna head home. Night fellas." Billy laughed as he made his way to the door.
"See ya Billy, nice work kid!" Barney shouted after him.
"Thanks, see you around." He said as he left.
"That kid's got skills!" Christmas announced once he had left.
The guys nodded in agreement. Barney smiled, "Yeah, he's a sharp shooter for sure."
Billy got back to his apartment block in no time and was looking forward to seeing his girl. As he climbed the staircase and approached his door he noticed it was ajar. That was odd, Jess would never leave it open, she was the kind of girl who checked the door was locked 3 times before she would go to bed.
He reached for his gun and approached the door with caution.
"Jess, you okay babe?" He called out as he carefully made his way inside. There had obviously been some commotion in the hallway. A photo had been knocked off of the wall and Jess's phone was on the floor. It soon became apparent that no one was there. As Billy walked into the living room he noticed there was a note on the coffee table. He picked it up.
You have something of mine.
Now I have something of yours.
Shit.
The guys were still laughing and drinking when Billy burst back into Tool's.
Barney spun round, "What's up Kid, you look like you've seen a ghost?"
"They took her!" He spluttered, catching his breath, "Those bastards took Jess!"
He held out the note and Barney took it from him. "Shit."
The guys gathered round and read the note. Short but sweet.
"What are we going to do?" Billy asked, he was pacing back and forth clearly in a state of shock and fear for Jess.
"Calm down, Billy, we'll get her back." Ross said, reassuringly patting him on the back.
"How? Are we going to hand back the chip? Put the world at risk? But then if we don't they'll kill her." He despaired, sitting down and putting his head in his hands.
Christmas looked at Ross. They knew the kid was right. They couldn't hand over the coordinates to a load of plutonium to a mad man. But on the other hand, they knew they had to get Billy's girl back. They needed a plan and they need it fast…
