Humble Nights

"Isn't it marvellous," Raffin feels the low, fascinating thumping of Bann's heart resounding through his skull. "How physicians can spend hours analysing any heart of a human or animal, but still haven't got enough time to find the antidote to a common cold?"

"We tried, once." Bann reminds him. His shoulders really are the most comfortable thing Raffin has ever slept on. "I let you take samples of my… facial discharges."

"Oh. Yes." Raffin doesn't know where his legs begin and Bann's end. "And I made you drink that burdock concoction."

"Which was vile." Bann moves out from underneath Raffin and twists in the sheets to face him and sling an arm over his waist to pull him closer.

"I'm sorry." Raffin presses an open mouthed kiss to Bann's lips as an unrepentant apology. "I'll never make you" kiss "do that again."

Raffin can feel Bann smile against his lips and returns it. "I'd have never if I hadn't adored you so much then," Bann says. A look of soppy surprise registers on Raffin's eyebrows. Bann reaches up to trace each one with a fingertip (one has had half of it burned off by accident). "I'd probably do it again, for you."

Raffin reaches down between their bodies, which are pressed flush against each other. "I don't deserve you," He grins lopsidedly. "You're a fool to love me!"

Bann breathes raggedly, smiling. "A fool is what I want to be." He promises, bringing Raffin closer.

E, darling, I wish I could have written you an epic, but, alas, it breaks my heart a little less to give you what you have so dearly been wishing for ;)
