A/N: Here is the Roy/Scar switcheroo. This is assuming that Roy's parents were illegal Xing immigrants. Just cos it fits XD
"You've nowhere to go now, Flame."
"Oh really?" The cocky Xingese man leant against a wall. "You'd be surprised of what I've gotten out of, Destruction Alchemist. Besides, what gives you the right to judge me?"
"You've killed innocent people and razed their homes to the ground."
Flame chuckled darkly. "Innocent? Hardly. I've killed corrupt generals and colonels, people who slaughtered every Xingese person they could find. Why? Because we were at war with Xing."
"That was years ago."
Flame narrowed his eyes. "Yet where's the retribution? Face it, Scar, you're just as bad as the rest of them. Trying to kill me because I'm Xingese." The mask that covered most of his face hid his expression, but the grief hung heavily in the air, almost tangible.
Scar paused. Several times he'd been discriminated against because he was an Ishvarite. What right did he have to pass judgement on this man, just because he was a colonel and Flame was not –
A terrible thought occurred to him. He leapt forward and grabbed the mask, tearing it off of Flame's face.
Colonel Roy Mustang glared at him. "So. You figured it out."
"Mustang. Very clever. This will cost you your position."
"True. Not if I kill you first." Mustang snapped his fingers, and Colonel Scar burst into flames.
As he crumbled into ash, Scar's last thought was that he wished he'd been brave enough to do what Flame had done, to pass judgement on those who had slaughtered his people.
Far away, two gunshots sounded.
A/N: Sorry if it was a bit vague and short, but I think I got my point across. The ending means that Roy got shot, because Scar still had his mask. Yay for sadness!
Length: 254 words (not counting notes)
Next I think I'll switch Al and Greed. (yes, I'm using pairings to help me decide XD GreedAl rocks)
