I don't really know what I should say
You lost too much of yourself that day
Leaving your heart to die on that shelf
To afraid to take it down for somebody else

Loving her, it left you in so much pain
You didn't want to be hurt, crying again
But why can't you see I'm not like her at all
That I'm still here to catch you when you fall?

My soul, it's still open for you to take
My heart, it's still waiting for you to break
But as days pass by, everything is the same
I'm here all alone, standing here in the rain

What will it take for you, to simply believe
That all you've been wanting, I've been keeping with me
And now that I'm ready to share them with you
All I'm doing is waiting for you to come through

All I ask of you is just one thing
That you would be willing to answer my dreams
That as I make wishes upon that twilight star
You'd be thinking of my like this, wherever you are
