THE ROCK-LIFE ALCHEMIST
THE SEQUEL TO FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST
~PROLOGUE~
110 YEARS AFTER EDWARD'S STORY ENDS…IN PRESENT DAY AMESTRIS, THE WORLDS OF JAPAN AND AMESTRIS HAVE COLLIDED, AND ARE NOW ONE. THE PEOPLE MINGLE AS IF EVERYTHING IS NORMAL…AND WE FOLLOW THE STORY OF EDWARD ELRIC'S GREAT-GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER…
"Hey, Veil!" a girl with her blond hair in large pony-tails called out to another girl as she passed by. She wore a simple pink t-shirt and tight, dark navy blue pants.
The girl she called out to noticed her, and turned around. She had on a deep, aquamarine blue shirt that curved under her collarbone, but was still modest enough for a 12-year-old to wear. Her blond bangs curved around the sides of her round, oval-shaped face, and her dark brown hair hung in three parts down her back. She had on a light gray, long skirt, a small necklace with a golden pendant/coin around her neck, and her eyes were gray-silver, like a silver moon or a silver coin.
"Hi, Ammie!" the girl named Veil replied as she smiled at the pony-tailed girl.
"Want to play tag?" Ammie suddenly had a slurred voice, her tone deeper than normal, as if she were a monster. She bared her teeth, which were now sharp, one inch long or longer, and spaced far apart from one another. She even let all of her gums show.
Veil's eyes widened as she tried to back away, but her legs were frozen with fear. She would have been destroyed if a sharp, annoying, beeping noise hadn't woken her up from the horrible nightmare.
Veil, a 16-year-old girl, was in bed, just waking up. Her eyes were still closed as she roused. A desk next to her had the classic rectangular, digital, black alarm clock with red numbers. She slammed the top of it, pressing the button that stopped the beeping.
She sat up and her eyes immediately went for a picture on the wall. An 8-year-old Ammie-who had frizzled hair in the picture-held up an eye-covering, white mask to her face, and stuck out her tongue, beginning to do a raspberry at the cameraman. A similar-aged Veil was laughing beside her. The two girls had messed up what had supposed to be a two-person, nice picture. It was Veil's favorite-that's why it was hung right next to her bed on the wall.
Why was it her favorite?
It had Ammie, her best friend, in it.
She didn't know where Ammie was now, but she knew she was messed up and off somewhere, or dead. She didn't like to think of her best friend as dead, but when Ammie became a monster in her dream-or maybe in real life (she couldn't remember)-you'd want to kill her, too!
That's what Veil thought. But now, she was just thinking, Ammie…, and sighing her heart out.
Author's Note: That's the prologue! And that's just 7 panels in the manga, and on one page! I divide my pages up by drawing line across the page to make the long panels (about 5 are made), then I draw a line to cut every other panel in half. So each page in the first manga is about 7-8 panels long. Heh, considering that…this prologue is pretty long! :) Okay, enough of my ranting. What did you think?
