The Ghost
A/N: I was thinking about Dead Man's Chest one day and all of a sudden this drabble of sorts just popped into my head. It's different from what I usually write but I think that it is good. Thanks for your time. Enjoy.
EDIT: Takes place during the beginning sequence in DMC. So, that means… Jack hasn't died yet, so he's not the narrator. Guess again folks. ;)
Elizabeth, I don't think you understand just how beautiful you are. There is something about the way that you smile that captures any man's heart, not just my own. I don't believe you really know this but when you were on my ship I wanted to have you as my own. But I knew that I could not. Even if the curse wasn't upon me, I wouldn't have touched you. You were too pure; you were untouched by the world around you.
But now Elizabeth, the world is starting to change. I can see it in your eyes, the world that you knew is falling apart. It's because of me, in a way. If I had never kept you on my ship that night that so very long ago, you wouldn't have committed piracy.
Lord Beckett, is asking around for you, my dear. You must protect the world that you know and love. Whether that has a world with me in it or people like me in it… that is up to you. But Elizabeth, I think you know which path you will chose. Though, I don't think you choose it lightly.
Whichever road you chose, I will defend my way of life. I have seen the other side of death. It is not pretty and I do not wish to go again so quickly but in order to protect the life that I know, I will be willing to die for it…again.
I wish I could call out to you now, you look so sad out there in the rain with your wedding dress getting drenched. Yellow. It makes your hair look like gold even in this cold, cold rain. But you mustn't see me. Not yet. There are some things that need to happen before I can see you again.
Go, Lord Beckett is almost upon you. Protect your treasure, your fiancée, Will Turner. I can see it in your face that you are set to protect him no matter what the cost. That is a rare trait for a woman nowadays. Elizabeth, you are strong woman, if the world can't see that, then at least know that I can see it in you.
The mysterious narrator was Barbossa. Did you guess right? ;)
