Disclaimer: Katsura Hoshino-Sensei owns D. Gray-man and all its characters; I do not.

Author's Note: I know that Alma was actually female; but in their "youth", she acted like otherwise. So technically this is pretty accurate.

Narrowed, onyx eyes angrily glare at the navy-haired boy before him. The same emotions that were expressed on his face were reflected to his flickering irises, as the young Japanese boy stood himself up.

Pointing his small, pale, unusually slim forefinger at the sobbing child, he darkened his glare some.

"Get out of my way, weakling." He ever so snidely spat.

A frown marred the currently antagonized older boy, as he pushed himself off the ground as well, wiping his nose with the back of his trembling hand.

"Why, Yuu?" He began to inquire.

"Why what?" Said raven-haired boy maliciously emulated.

"Why are you so callous to me…?" He trailed off.

The onyx-eyed Japanese snorted.

"Why are you so emotional, Alma?" He derided.

"I — I thought we were friends, Yuu!" He despairingly admitted.

As he did so, more tears spilt from his onyx orbs, brought forth from his outburst. The seemingly more cold-hearted test subject rolled his eyes; he found it absolutely pathetic when people shed tears over conflicts as menial and pointless as these.

"Who said?" He bluntly refuted.

After a few more sniffles and sobs (from the other boy's behalf); he suddenly punched his ex-companion in the face before running towards the Science Department, his second sanctuary.

— The first being their "birthplace", where they currently reside in.

Yuu became even more livid, and the small amount of contempt he had held for Alma quickly sky-rocketed, as he cupped his hand against his printed cheek.

It hadn't been his fault he was so consumed with anger; with hate and dread of the continuous experiments he had just come back from and knew he was to be a part of later on that day. It wasn't that Alma was the one he despised; not at all. He simply had been the easiest target the Japanese boy could take out his frustrations on.

However, seeing him suffer almost twice as much as he did because of him, Yuu became all the more pissed off; for he knew himself that Alma was the only friend he had there. Ever so slowly, his tantrums were beginning to finally take a toll on their already strained bond.

And nothing more caused him to feel such aggravation.
