Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy! (If you haven't played Until Dawn or watched gameplay footage of it, I suggest you do that first before you read this) ;)
When I stepped out of the car, I shivered as I realized how cold it was. I looked around at the trees and the landscape around me. It's truly beautiful, seeing all the mountains and everything else. I checked my rearview mirror on my car, just to make sure I look presentable. I have long, curly brown hair and green eyes. Everything looks fine to me. I walked away from the car and stepped through the thick, wet snow. It's the middle of February. Almost exactly four years ago, is when these peaceful campgrounds became the center of chaos. Eight teenagers came to these grounds, and were lucky enough to escape with their lives. Except for one. Josh Washington has gone missing ever since, and has not been found. Now, me and my 7 other friends want to stay the night here.
Great. Just great.
It's hard to differentiate between what's true and what's false. Many rumors started spreading ever since the night Josh Washington went missing. Some say Josh was killed. Others say he was the murderer. Some even say that behind all of it, a dark force secretly roams these woods at night. But here's what's for sure: A year before that night, Josh's two sisters went missing too. Another true fact is that the cabin burned down on that night. But fast forward to now, and what's happened is the cabin is being rebuilt. It's almost finished too. And my dumbass friends decided it would be a good idea to spend the night inside that cabin. See, one of my friends, Nathan, came up with the whole idea when he found out that his dad knew one of the construction workers who was working on rebuilding the cabin. And not only that, but my friend Michelle, her mother is a police officer. So that's how we got permission to spend the night here. I don't know how Michelle was able to convince her mother to allow that, but then again her mom allows just about anything. So that's the story of how I, Laura, got myself caught up in this mess.
When I finally got to the cable cars, I sat down on the bench, and pulled up my phone. It was almost 9:00. Brian and Emma were supposed to meet me here by now… I texted Emma to ask her where she is.
Me: Where r u? R u on your way?
Emma: Almost there. Me and B got held up.
I then put away my phone in my pocket and grabbed a book from my backpack. I was reading Allegiant, the third book in the Divergent series. I'm completely hooked on the series. I really like to read as well. A few pages later, I heard footsteps in the snow. I looked up to see Emma and Brian walking towards me. Emma spoke to me immediately.
Emma: Hey Laura!
Laura: Hey.
Emma stood next to me as Brian unlocked the door to the cable cars. She shook the snow out of her hair. Emma was uh, how do I put this? A lot like Phoebe from the Television show Friends. She had the looks too. But she was also one of my closest friends. Once we were all on the cable cars, we started to chat instantly.
Brian: Hey guys, we're just like the teenagers from that night!
Laura: Oh please, do not scare me this early in the night.
Emma: He kind of does have a point. I figure I would be Jessica, though.
Laura: You would not be Jessica! You'd probably be Ashley.
Brian: I think I'd be Matt. I just hope none of us becomes a Josh.
Emma: Ugh. Oh god. Don't even start.
Brian: ...I wonder if the rumors are true.
Laura: Well, there are all different rumors, so it's hard to know which ones you mean.
Brian: That, like, Josh was a murderer. I think it's entirely possible, since a year before that night his sisters disappeared.
Emma: Did they ever figure out what really happened to them?
Brian: I don't think so. If they did, then they never really told us.
I stared out the window of the cable car and out onto the white, snowy mountains and the trees all around me. Snow was starting to fall a bit harder. I patiently waited for the rest of the ride.
When we finally reached the cabin, the rest of the group was already waiting outside for us. Jackson, Luke, Nathan, Michelle, and Melissa were all there, waiting to get inside. Nathan then unlocked the doors to let us in. The place smelled of must and oldness, if that was a smell.
Luke: Well, I'll get the snacks out.
Jackson: I'll try to get the fire going.
Everyone else sat down in different spots on the couches. There were cardboard boxes and plywood littered around the cabin. I went upstairs and into one of the empty bedrooms. I twirled around the room a few times, then went back downstairs. As I walked by the front door, a piece of paper slid under the door. I picked it up and read it. In big, bold black letters, said the words:
YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER CAME HERE
