Because... Teenage boys, and Cana.
Nothing you wouldn't hear/see from a normal high school... Unless mine actually wasn't normal, but just really really inappropriate... Most of these events are actually based on real-life happenings I've been a part of or witnessed.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the characters, all credit goes to Hiro Mashima. This is a non-profit fan-made story based on his amazing creation.
Hey guys, so for those who might not know: this is a story I'm picking back up after a couple of years of letting it sit, so this is an edited/updated version of the story Leap of Fate. For now, I'll continue editing and posting the rest of the original chapters before you see anything new.
For those who came here already knowing that: Thank you, for sticking with me... I know it been a sketchy ride, but here it is. I'm trying not to do too many drastic changes, but in the later chapters, there probably will be a few major things I change.
Always feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments, I do appreciate it so very much... And as always, I'm sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes. 99% of the time I'm doing this in the early hours when I actually finally get some time.
Enjoy~
A little background before the story...
My name is Lucy Heartfilla, so the basics... I'm 17, pretty much your normal teenage girl, and I live in the mildly small town of Magnolia. When I was seven my parents divorced so now I switch staying between the two homes, two years later now and things have finally smoothed out some. When my mother moved across town, she moved in next door to her childhood best friend, Mr. Igneel Dragneel. While my father stayed in our original house, not like it mattered much to him anyway. He wasn't (isn't) home most of the time, always busy with the Heartfilla business and traveling. Meaning I would only spend time at his house when he was actually in town, it wasn't until I was about fourteen when I finally started staying at Dad's every other weekend, eventually every other week.
Shortly after my parent's divorce finalized, Dad's new girlfriend started coming to stay with us from time to time. A pretty hard change to take at such a young age, but she wasn't the worst person in the world. Her name is Miranda Dreyar. Later bringing along her son who was years only three years older than me, Laxus. Now I've grown to enjoy them both, even though I rarely get to see Maranda and Dad. After a while, she started leaving Laxus at my Dad's and soon he pretty much just moved in. He's now like the big brother I never got.
I currently attend the local high school, Fairy Tail High, where I'm co-captain on the varsity cheer team. I know cheer season is over, but at FTH we have practice all year round. Which I don't mind, it keeps my mind off things and keeps us active. My best female friend is Cana Alberona, who also happens to be cheer captain and one of the most popular girls in the whole school. Not meaning that in a snobby kind of way, of course. While my guy best friend is Natsu Dragneel, son of Igneel Dragneel obviously. I pretty much grew up knowing Natsu, he was such a twerp back then. I guess not much as really changed, other then he has matured up a little since he started dating Lisanna Strauss back at the beginning of last year. She's the younger sister of Mirajane Strauss, as in like The Mirajane Strauss. Mirajane was a senior when I was a freshman, she's like a role model for me. She also happens to be dating my brother, Laxus.
Like I said, semi-small town. Everyone knows everyone, and sometimes that's kind of stressful. Everyone knows your drama and business, and everything else. Though, for such a small town it hosts a decent amount of schools. One high school, three middle schools, and three elementary schools. So, unfortunately, I didn't attend the same middle school as Natsu. He didn't in introduced me to his friends until high school, but now they're who I normally spend all my time with. Our normal group consists of Natsu, Gray, Jellal, Gajeel, Lisanna, Cana, Erza, Levy, Juvia, Loki, and of course me.
Lastly, Loki Leon... My long term boyfriend, going on two years already. He's so sweet and his parents are great, what more could you ask for in a guy? His family, or father really, is the owner of Leon Productions. Which is why it was so important to Loki that I meet his family, and soon I was being drugged along to all his fancy dinners to clients. Which was nice, I got to make sure no rich snobs got to hit on him. He said it looks good to have his amazing girlfriend alongside him, it made me feel bubbly inside...
There will be switching back and forth between POV (point of views)
Eucliffe, Sting Eucliffe. I use to live in Sky Peak, a town up in the mountain range a few miles from here. Keywords, 'use to'. My mom found work here, in the town of Magnolia. I cringe. Magnolia is a smaller town than what I'm used to, there doesn't seem to be as much to do. I've already started to hate it and we've only been here for like five minutes. I didn't want to move, it meant leaving all my friends and a reputation I've worked hard to build. Change is a hard thing for me and my mom knows it, but I was trying to be positive for her. She was the only reason I was sucking it up and just dealing with the whole moving thing, not my ideal situation.
Before we moved I went to Sabertooth High, one of the best schools in all of Fiore. Our sports teams crush nearly every competitor we're paired against, but our only true rivals are the school in the neighboring town, Fairy Tail. We take sports and succeeding extremely serious, focusing on winning and striving hard at everything possible. Here I was the most popular guy in the school, the quarterback for varsity football, and the destined prom king for every year. I was the guy everyone fantasized about, either to be me or be with me... But I'm dating Minerva Orland, the most populate girl in the school of course. On top of being the principal's daughter, she's also varsity's cheer caption and destined prom queen for every year. We're pretty much the perfect power couple.
My best friends Rogue Cheney, but we're like polar opposites. The silent guy, the emo kid while I was sunshine in your face with a kickass smirk. He never made an effort to stop anything that went down, he just kinda stood back and looked another way. Since Minerva's father was the principal of the school, we got away with a lot of crap. Its all about who you run with, but that was the thing about Sabertooth High School... You either run or get run over. There's gray somewhere between, but not many find it. And I'm the kind of person who stands out, unlike Rogue who could probably just vanish into the shadows if he tried hard enough. Of course, Minerva would latch onto me for the status.
Then there's Yukino Aguria. A sweet girl, I totally would've dated her if Minerva hadn't pretty much claimed me as solely hers. Making it nearly impossible to even talk to other girls. Not only that, the girl secretly, not so secretly, has a huge crush on the oh so oblivious Rogue Cheney. While she was cute, she was a little too shy and innocent for my taste. Though the perfect girl for my brooding best friend, if he'd ever open his eyes and see it.
My world really crashed around me, when I announced I would be moving to my group of 'friends'. What happened? Minerva broke up with me, right there in the middle of the school. Publicly embarrassing me, like I was trash underneath her feet. The rest of my last week at Sabertooth High was filled with hushed whispers and second looks, a few girls trying to talk to me in hopes of a one night deal. I openly made out with a couple of the hotter chicks, just to get back at Minerva. Which I clearly managed, because the second day of that she met me at my locker and tried to get in my face over it. I slammed the locker and laughed in her face, catching the attention of nearly the whole school before telling her (very loudly) it was her lose then walked away like nothing. Like she was trash underneath my feet, which was petty but man it felt good. She wants back together, even though I've already moved.
I didn't want to change school, or towns, or anything. But Mom's had a hard time finding work for a while now, I often wonder how much better off would she be without me. It was me that got her into this mess after all. She's never said it, but I've heard her talking to her best friend over the phone. Late at night, when she thinks I'm asleep. Talking about how my father left when he found out she was pregnant with me, but that didn't stop her from loving and caring for me. I loved my mom, she's the only reason I'm sucking it up and dealing with this crappy move. So I find myself putting up a fake smile as we drive through the lovely (sarcastic) town of Magnolia, while inside I feel the dread boiling up in my stomach.
I'm glad she found work though, I can feel some of her tension easing now. She also said her best friend stayed close by with her boyfriend or something and she's always loved coming to visit the town, she likes the village feeling it holds. I often wonder if she has some childhood memories here, but she keeps her past pretty tight-lipped. Including anything about my father when I ask, which bugs me to no end. I'm sure she has her reasons, it's just that I wish I could know more about my crappy father. Who walks out of their pregnant wife? Some role model he turned out to be.
I guess life in Magnolia starts now...
