---->Author's Note: Alternate title: I Really Wanted To Contribute To the D.Gray-Man Fanfiction But All I Could Come up With Was This Timcanpy-related...Thing.

xD Yes, I joke. But seriously, there is a lack of Timcanpy-related fanfiction, so why not? And...well, this was the only thing I could think of.

Disclaimer: Me own D.Gray-Man and all of the wonderful charries in it? (Including the ever-adorable Tim) Not a chance.

--Takes place in chapter 46 of the manga, beginning with the Exorcists' trip on the boat to Japan. No spoilers, unless you count Miranda and Krory's membership in the Black Order. Italicized things are actually taking place, while the regular font is my ramblings.

Enjoy.

----Epiphany----

Timcanpy did not understand.

---

"Can you find him, Tim?" Allen calls, and up the golden golem whirls, into the vast ocean of sky, and points his small body towards the east, where the pulling sensation comes from.

---

Timcanpy was not meant to think. Timcanpy was not meant to wonder. And so he didn't.

Timcanpy did not wonder why the-boy-named-Allen called on him with such desperation in his eyes.

He did not wonder why BookmanLavi shrugged every wrong turn and unfortunate situation off with a smile and a grin and a joke.

Timcanpy did not understand why the-pretty-girl-called-Lenalee looked as if she were going to cry every time a mission was announced. And he certainly didn't understand why she went anyway.

He didn't bother to ponder over why once-a-vampire-Krory become an Akuma-slayer, or why scary-lady-Miranda decided to overcome her fears and join the Exorcists, or why Yu-chan-Kanda shrugs every effort to be friendly off with a frightening glare and a stoic expression.

He simply was not meant to do so.

---

Timcanpy perches lightly upon Allen's waiting finger and is rewarded with a small scratch to the head for his troubles.

Allen, distracted from his head-scratching duties, pauses to laugh at the red-headed Lavi who was currently hanging over the edge of the travelling boat, seasick, while Lenalee shakes her head at the juvenile delinquents, though she wore a carefully concealed grin on her face.

---

Timcanpy was not meant to wonder-- and so he doesn't.

He knows.
