Saved For Nothing
It was over, it was finally over. Father and Pride were dead, the country was saved, so why wasn't he happy? Was it because Mustang was blind? Was it because he still had his automail? No. It was because he was holding his little brother's starved body in his hands, not sure if he was alive or not.
"Al? Alphonse can you hear me?!"
He stirred a bit then slowly opened his eyes.
"Brother?"
Ed smiled and tears of joy ran down his face. He had done it, he had actually done it, he had gotten his brother's body back.
Ed opened his eyes and sat up. It had been months since that happened and he was still dreaming about it over and over again. He didn't know why, but he hated it. After that e had gone back to Risembool since he had been given some time off the military, but he wasn't sure if he should even stay in the military. It was true that Olivia Armstrong had pretty much taken over now, but what did he have to gain by staying at state alchemist now?
He sighed, he was just so confused on what to do these days. He decided to get some fresh morning air so he quickly got dressed and walked out the door. He thought about leaving a note on the table, but they knew where he was going.
He liked walking slow for some reason. Maybe it was because he liked how quiet it was at this time and he could hear the sound of his feet as he walked. Crunch crunch. Or maybe it was because it gave him time to think. Crunch crunch. He hadn't seen the Colonel in a while since he couldn't be in the military anymore 'cause of his blindness, but he had heard that Riza was taking care of him. Crunch crunch. He had depression problems too. Crunch crunch.
Scar had disappeared after he killed Wrath, and who knows what happened to Yoki. Crunch crunch. Ling/Greed had returned to Xing and became emperor, but Mei had stayed in Amestris and visited often. Crunch. Then there was him, the FullMetal Alchemist.
He had come to the cemetery like he often did, and he had a few flowers in his hand as he opened the gate. It was quiet as he walked up to the grave he was looking for, and the grass made it so he couldn't hear the sounds of his feet.

"Hi mom" he said as he set some of the flowers down.
Drip. Was it starting to rain or was he crying? He couldn't tell. He let out a soft sigh and moved on to the next grave:
Van Hoenheim

"Hi...Dad"
He was an orphan now. Drip drip. Raindrops or tears? He still didn't know. He set down a few flowers on his grave, sad that he died before he could forgive him for leaving. Drip drip drip. The water drops got heavier as he walked over towards the last grave and set the rest of the flowers on.
Alphonse Elric
1900-1914
Ed wiped the tears off his face and wrapped his coat around Al so he wouldn't get cold. He had carried him to the hospital, and when he got there Al had fallen asleep, or at least that's what he thought. The doctors said his body was to weak, and that he died from starvation only minutes ago. He had been to late.
Drip drip drip. It was now pouring, and the water ran down his face.
"I'm sorry..." he muttered.
He lowered head making more water run down his face. A single drop landed in his mouth. Salty. So he was crying, but why wouldn't he be? After all, he was the last Elric
Author's Notes
I starting to think something is wrong with me. I mean usually I don't like stories where Ed and/or Al, yet here I am writing one. Oi somebody hit me with something! Anyway I don't know about everybody else, but I have a feeling that the manga's gonna have a tragic ending, so that's why I wrote this. I hope at least some of you like it, and those of you who do please review.
