A short little one shot. NOT PINECEST
"Come on Bro Bro Nothing a good night's sleep can't fix!" Mabel sing songed.
"No seriously I need to go the hospital." Her brother Dipper replied. He attempted to step forward and..
"Dipper!" Mabel exclaimed, running back to her brother who had fallen flat on his face. "Soos! GRUNKLE STAN! DIPPER FAINTED" She yelled.
He hadn't passed out but he certainly couldn't move. He couldn't even open his eyes.
"Yeesh kid what's the- HOT BELGIAN WAFFLES what happened to your brother?!"
"We gotta fix him!"
Dipper heard all this and vaguely felt himself being gently up and carried off before the darkness cut all his senses off.
"I'll be watching Kid! You haven't seen the last of me!" followed by maniacal laughter.
Dipper's eyes flew open.
A moan of pain was accompanied by shutting them again.
Even that hurt.
What had happened?
Dipper slowly opened his eyes again. Ugh it was so BRIGHT in here! Where was here anyway?
His vision cleared and he could see the wooden rafters of his attic room above him.
Relief washed over him. It was all a dream.
Attempting to sit up proved that to be false. So it really had happened. Argh! How could he be so stupid as to agree to a deal with him?
Dipper attempted to slam his fist into his bed but found that nearly impossible due to the amount of gauze wrapped around his arm.
The creaking of the stairs caught his attention, followed by the door scraping open.
"Dipper? You awake?" A soft voice whispered. Mabel?
"Y-yeah" he weakly whispered back.
"Oh good!" foot steps crossed the room and his sister's smiling face looked down at him "Think you can sit up?"
"I-I can't" he whispered. Mabel turned and grabbed the pillow from her bed before coming back to Dipper.
"Here, I'll help" gently she put her hand on Dipper's shoulder and eased him up. He felt tears well up in his eyes and was relieved when Mabel helped him back down. Now he was sitting, sort of. Mabel had propped him up with all the fluffy pillows from her bed. He gave her a smile of thanks. Mabel picked up the tray she had brought in and put it in front of Dipper and then plopped herself next to it.
"Eat." She commanded and handed Dipper a piece of toast. He accepted and began eating it.
"Thanks Mabel."
"Don't mention it, now how are you feeling?"
"Like I've been attacked by a gremoblin. What happened?"
"Well I turned around to leave, I thought you were behind but I heard this thump and I turned around and you had passed out! Kind of like some Victorian Lady" she lightly teased. Then her face sobered.
"Apparently Gravity Falls doesn't have a hospital so we brought you back home and fixed you up. Dipper, there was..so much blood.. and bruises.." tears welled up in her eyes. "What happened?" Dipper nervously swallowed his bite of toast.
"Well um what did you tell Grunkle Stan?"
"I told him you fell from a tree earlier and that you hit your head when 'you' fell from the stage. But I could tell he didn't believe me."
"Well I did I'm pretty sure my head hit the ground when Bill fell but aside from that Mabel" he paused " I'm not really sure what happened. I remember at one point he slammed my arm in a drawer and stabbed forks in it. I guess he finds pain hilarious. And I'm pretty sure he threw my body down the stairs."
"Dipper, what were you thinking?!"
"I know I'm sorry!" He gave her a small smile "At least I have a good nurse who's also the world's best sister." Mabel grinned at him.
"Well that's one thing you're right about. Now nurse's orders are o eat that food and to stay in bed for two days, sleeping. No journal. No exploring."
"But Mabel-"
"No. Now eat and I'll come check on you in a little bit." Mabel gave her brother a small hug and skipped out the door.
Dipper shook his head and smiled a little.
The journal was sort of right. He couldn't trust everybody.
But he could definitely trust his sister.
