The Body Part Song
By: Texmex007
A/N: just a little one-shot with John and Sherlock When John asks for the millionth time about the head in the icebox, Sherlock breaks out into a song. Just a random thing that popped into my head while I was reading a Homicide Investigation book. Enjoy-because I know I did~
"SHERLOCK!" The army doctor's voice bellowed through 221B as the consulting detective popped his head into the kitchen, just in time to watch the doctor remove a severed head from the fridge.
"Why is this still here?" demanded John as he gingerly raised the container holding the head. Sherlock closed his mouth as he tried to think of an excuse, any excuse, to which he knew John wouldn't be able to retaliate. He took the container from John and placed it on the counter, the corner of his lips tugging as a brilliant idea popped into his mind.
"John," he said, placing a hand on his companion's good shoulder and looking him in the eyes, "have you ever heard of the 'Body Parts Song'?"
John stared at him.
"Based on your lack of an answer," said Sherlock, grabbing his violin and rushing back into the kitchen, "you do not know it. Today is your lucky day, I shall teach you."
With a draw of his bow, he started to play, his rich baritone voice filling the air,
"Head, shoulder knees and toes, knees and toes,"
John rolled his eyes. He could locate every one of those body parts in their fridge.
"Head, shoulder knees and toes, knees and toes,"
John looked at the severed head and could've sworn it was smiling
"Eyes and ears and mouth and nose…" said Sherlock, a grin now plastered on his face, which for anyone but John, would've sent someone scurrying,
"Head, shoulder knees and toes…"
We keep food in there, thought John, FOOD..
Sherlock drew his bow quick for his finale,
"I am Sherlock Holmes!"
John applauded as his dear friend bowed. After Sherlock put away his violin, he joined John with a rather hopeful look on his face as he asked how John liked his performance.
"It was absolutely delightful," said John, his smile never wavering, "Now, if you would please help me find a new place for your…beloved body parts."
A/N: Ok, so how did you like that? It came out kinda rushed, but it's just a one chapter thing that I wanted to get out there because it made me laugh so hard when I sang this to my Sherlockian friend. Ok, thanks everyone!
