Ponyboy:Okay, Yesterday when Dal, Johnny and I went to Dairy Queen Dally got a girl. I think she said her name was Kayla or something. I thought she was real cute but kinda jumpy. She scared me, when Dal was gone to get another sundae she was trying to talk to me but there was nmothing to say. I don't know she was different. Johnny wasn't really paying any attention. Once we got rid of her, he told Dal that we were gonna turn ourselves in and he started talking about police records and scared the crap outta me! He never talks about his record, I know he's proud of it and all but that's not something I expected him to talk about!
Then came the fire, the whole time I was in the burning church I was thinking about how jumpy Kayla would have been if she would have seen that. I was really happy to see Soda, he thought my hair was tuff, at least that makes one of us!! Right now I'm thinkin' about Cherry Valance, boy she is A LOT calmer than Kayla, she would have been in the fire right beside me, I think I like her, but I don't know. I'm sure glad I met her before I met Kayla, I'm sure glad she wasn't Bob's girl I would have been scared. Darry thinks I'm sleeping, for once I'd better use my head and stop before the cycle starts all over again...
Johnny:I was burnt today. It was like hell, literally, I think I busted my back. The docs been actin' real weird around me since I got here. I'm scared and I don't want to tell anyone 'cause I already got enough problems and I don't want no one to worry 'bout me no more. Its not fair, my life could still be good, I don't want to die! Its not worth it! Especially now with all this goin' on, Pony's who I'm real worried about hurtin', I've already 'caused enough.
Dally saw this girl, Kayla at Dairy Queen today. Boy I wish I could talk to the girls like Dally, I'm just to shy, I guess that's okay. I'm afraid something bad is gonna happen. I case its what I think it is I think I'll write a letter to Pony and stick it in the new copy of Gone With the Wind.
Dallas: I met some girl at Dairy Queen today, her name was...Kayla, yeah Kayla. Boy! She was one of the best kissers I've ever met and I've met a lot of good kissers! Way better than Sylvia, she was a trader I hope I never see that broad again in my life. Good thing the guys told Pony and Johnny not to mess around with girls like that. I don't think I wanna see Kayla again, she's just to jumpy.
I guess Johnny's not doin' to good, Two-Bit told me that he passed out, I wish I would have known who caused him to pass out, boy they would be more sorry than anyone I've ever hurt, and I would only hurt someone for Johnny.We have to win the rumble tonight is all about Johnny and it begins with payback. Let's just hope it has a good ending...
Kayla:I saw this REALLY cute boy today, Dallas Winston from Tulsa, he was a really good kisser. The only reason I would ever go out with him or a guy like him is to make Daddy mad. I always get what I want, I just don't think its him. He had these really cute friends, one was my age but the other was like fourteen and kinda staring at me funny the whole time. All of those boys were cute and had really nice eyes. I liked Dallas's the best and not just 'cause he was an amazing kisser, but because they were misty, hard, and serious all at the same time, pretty eyes.
He said something about a ruble tonight. Even though it won't last, I hope he's safe!!
