Childhood: Growing up with only one older brother, Amber was bred tough. At a young age, Roy and Amber would spend hours up late at night working on their alchemic skills. Eventually, Roy found that he could manipulate fire with his alchemy and showed Amber how to, too. Although Amber was happy that both she and her brother could now use the flame alchemy, she wanted to be able to have a special skill, too, that she had found- Amber wanted to learn human transmutation. After years and years of hard work and study, Amber finally decided to give up on the idea of ever being able to prefect the forbidden alchemy and went after her brother to join the military. It didn't take much to persuade the furrer that her alchemic skills were great enough for the military and she was soon registered. Only a couple years before hand, Amber noticed a law of alchemy for herself that hadn't been written yet and decided to try one more human transmutation. After only a few weeks of extra study, she was able to test it once more. The result? Perfect. Side effects? She lost her left leg during the transaction. Other than that, Amber had done the impossible- She alone had perfected human alchemy…. She had become 'The Miracle Alchemist"….
