CHAPTER 1

THE GEM AND THE TRIX

FADE FROM BLACK INTO:

EXT. EARTH ORBIT

The scene opens to view the vast openness of space, just outside the planet Earth's orbit. The screen pans to the left to show more of the endless, empty universe. Suddenly and abruptly, a red laser blasts across the void. Following in the direction of where the laser was fired, a sleek starship zipped past the screen. Its hull was silver and had glowing green markings, and currently had smoke coming from its damaged sides. The damage was caused by the ship's pursuer; a massive warship, the Chimerian Hammer. Black as obsidian with glowing red markings on its hull and large purple orbs near its bow and bridge, the fearsome warship charged its large, forward gun with red energy and fired at its smaller target.

CUT TO:

INT. CHIMERIAN HAMMER

Several purple and black androids, the Dreadnaughts, were handling the controls of the massive warship, their four robotic eyes glowing red as they targeted the smaller ship. In the center, bathed in shadowed sat the commander of the Chimerian Hammer, watching intently with its menacing red eyes the large screen in front of it as the smaller ship was attacked again.

The Dreadnaught in front of the large screen turned to its master.

Dreadnaught #1 (digital voice)

"My Lord, the Ship is heavily damaged, and its defenses are down."

The Commander (shrouded in darkness)

"Good. Send them in."

The android nodded and clicked a switch on its right arm. A hatch on the Chimerian Hammer's bow opened, which was filled with several larger drones, the Makhai. Each Makhai had four, razor sharp clawed arms and had jetpack modules on their backs. As soon as the hatch was fully opened, the drones activated their jetpacks and took off for the damaged ship. The small vessel in question was still blowing out smoke from the side; there was a significant risk of the cruiser exploding at any moment.

The Commander and its Dreadnaught androids watched the screen as the Makhai shock troops made their way to the smaller vessel. However, before the first Makhai could even lay a finger on the metal of the hull, it was blasted to ashes by fire-like lasers, followed soon after by more blasts that destroyed the rest of the drones in space.

The Commander (cont. calm but furious, standing behind Dreadnaught #1)

"Did you not tell me that the ship's defenses were down?"

Dreadnaught #1 (scared, looking up over its head at its commander)

"Y-Yes, my Lord."

The Commander (grabbing the android by its neck and lifting it up)

"Then explain this oversight."

Dreadnaught #1 (choking)

"I-I don't kn-know, my L-lord!"

The Commander

"Then you are of no further use." (crushes the android's neck, its lifeless body falling to the ground)

Dreadnaught #2

"My Lord, we are detecting a Gem Homeworld vessel."

The Commander (walking back to his seat)

"On screen."

The android switched the video feed on the monitor to show a large imperial ship. It was made from red and black crystal, with bladed fins and several cannons attached to the hull which were pointed towards the Chimerian Hammer.

The Commander (shouting)

"Raise the shields and prepare to fire!"

The cannons of the large vessels began firing away at each other, causing small explosions and debris from the wreckage. The Chimerian Hammer took damage on the left rear, causing the Commander and its drones to shake from the impact. In the ensuing chaos, the smaller vessel had tried to use the distraction to flee, only for stray lasers to hit it, causing massive damage to the entire vessel. As the Commander endured more damage to his ship, a holographic screen popped up on the arm of his chair showing the smaller ship falling towards the Earth before exploding.

The Commander (Wide-eyed, shouting)

'No!"

The Commander watched his prize be destroyed in the explosion, but before he could do anything further one of the crystal ship's cannons blasted straight through the deck of its ship and directly where the Commander was. The black ship exploded on several different angles and produced smoke everywhere. The mysterious crystal ship glowed red before instantly disappearing in a bright flashing beam, leaving only the wreckage of the Chimerian Hammer as it headed for Earth.

What none of them saw, however, was that before the small vessel had exploded it had launched a pod towards the Earth, carrying inside the key that would save the universe.

CUT TO BLACK / INTRO:

EXT. SPACE WARP PAD

The scene fades from black to a close-up shot of Garnet, a background of stars and space behind her.

Garnet (smiling and singing)

"We…"

The scene zooms out to show Garnet at hip height as Pearl, Cat's Eye and Amethyst enter in front of her, continuing the song left off from Garnet.

Pearl, Cat's Eye, & Amethyst (smiling and singing)

"...are the Crystal…"

Pearl, Cat's Eye, and Amethyst move back as Steven Universe's face pops up from below the screen between the three gems behind him, with Trix on his shoulder. (Pearl moving to the left while Cat's Eye and Amethyst move to the right, with Cat's Eye being above Amethyst)

Steven & Trix (smiling and singing, as a blue light begins to illuminate them from below)

"...Gems!"

All four of the Crystal Gems, Steven and Trix are standing on a warp pad surrounded by a reflective surface; the Earth, the Moon, and Space seen behind them. Garnet, Pearl, Cat's Eye, and Amethyst are watching Steven as he opens the warp pad; the devices' blue lights shining up to create a column beam of energy that envelops all six.

Garnet, Pearl, Cat's Eye, & Amethyst (looking up as the warp pad begins levitating and teleporting them and Steven)

"We'll always save the day!"

The scene shifts to show Steven riding the warp pad's beam with the others affectionately ruffling his hair; Amethyst from his left, Pearl from his right and Garnet from above, while Cat's Eye gives Trix's head an affectionate scratch.

Steven (with his eyes having a white star in each)

"And if you think we can't -"

CUT TO:

EXT. BLUE SKY

The scene shifts to show a bright blue sky with white fluffy clouds as Garnet materializes her gauntlets over her hands and strikes a pose.

Steven (off-screen)

"We'll…"

Garnet moves to the bottom left of the screen to out of view as Pearl appears behind her, materializing her spear from the gem in her forehead, twirling it in hand before striking a pose. She moves to the bottom right of the screen to out of view as Cat's Eye appears behind her, pouncing forward with her left hand pulling out a materializing cat claw from the gem on her right arm and slashing with it before striking a pose. She moves to the upper left of the screen to out of view as Amethyst appears behind her, materializing her whip from the gem in her chest, flicking it before striking a pose. She moves to the upper right of the screen to out of view as Steven flips into view behind her, activating the Omnitrix on his right wrist with his left arm materializing his Rose Shield and striking a pose in midair. As Steven was shown, ten silhouetted panels of aliens appear behind him.

Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, Cat's Eye, Steven & Trix (non-verbal)

"...always find a way!"

CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH CITY/ BIG DONUT – SUNSET

Connie Maheswaran was seen looking down a street, wielding Rose Quartz' Sword in her left hand and resting it on her shoulder while her other hand was holding a book. She watches as the residents of Beach City (several recurring characters) go about their daily lives: Sadie Miller exiting the Big Donut; to Sadie's left was Laramie Barriga was leaning against the Big Donut. To Sadie's right was Ronaldo Fryman, sitting on his knees as he looks over some papers. Sitting at the only outside table of the Big Donut (left side) are Sour Cream, Jennifer "Jenny" Pizza, and Buck Dewey. On the other side of the street (right side) are Kiki Pizza (carrying a box of pizza above her head) and Nanefua "Gunga" Pizza. Further in front of Kiki and Gunga are Kofi Pizza and Mr. Harold Smiley talking with Mr. Fryman, who was letting Peedee Fryman sit on his shoulders. And further ahead of them and sitting on the beach and looking out to sea was Jamie.

Suddenly, Gregory "Greg" Universe drives his van down the street Connie was looking at very quickly.

Garnet (off-screen)

"That's why the people…"

As Greg turns a corner (causing the van's left side to lift momentarily), his van's speed causes the paper's Ronaldo was looking at to fly around with him reaching up to grab them. As Greg's van passes by her and off-screen, Connie turns, smiling, and rushes after it. As she does, Onion pops up on the roof of the Big Donut.

Garnet, Pearl, Cat's Eye, & Amethyst (off-screen, cont. into scene change)

"...of this world…"

CUT TO:

EXT. CRYSTAL TEMPLE - SUNSET

As Connie runs in from the left side of the screen to Greg, who was sitting with his guitar in hand (a power cord is seen connected to it leading to a speaker which is also attached to a cord leading to the back of the open van) and leaning against Lion, Pearl and Amethyst are in the middle of talking (not-heard). While this happens, Garnet and Cat's Eye are walking [walking on all fours like a cat in Cat's Eye's case] towards Steven who was sitting, propped up by his arms and staring at the sky with Trix resting on his shoulder. When Garnet and Cat's Eye come closer to Steven, Pearl and Amethyst turn to look in her direction.

The scene then shifts to show a close up of Greg, Lion, and Connie (who is now sitting in front of Greg with her sword embedded in the ground next to her). As Greg strikes a chord on his guitar, Connie turns to look over her shoulder (implied to be Steven and the Gems offscreen) and Lion cracks open one of his eyes.

Garnet (off-screen)

"...believe in."

The scene then shifts to show Garnet preparing to sit down behind Steven, who turns to look up at her.

Garnet (non-verbal)

"Garnet…"

Cat's Eye craws up to Steven's right side and affectionately rubs herself on his shoulder like a cat before laying down like a cat in front of him.

Cat's Eye (non-verbal)

"...Cat's Eye…"

Amethyst slides in from their left, resting on her side with her head propped up by her right arm.

Amethyst (non-verbal)

"...Amethyst…"

The scene backs up a little as Pearl collectively walks up to Steven's right side and sits on her legs before turning to look at him.

Pearl (non-verbal)

"...and Pearl…"

The scene then shifts to show all five sitting with the Crystal Temple behind them. Appearing above them was the title card, "Steven 10" (the 'Steven' is made out of pink crystal, the '10' has the appearance of the Omnitrix and has a star behind it, and the '0' has the Omnitrix symbol in it).

Steven (non-verbal)

"...and Steven!"

Trix (non-verbal)

"...with Trix!"

FADE TO BLACK:

CUT TO:

OPEN EXT. CRYSTAL TEMPLE - DAYTIME

The scene opens back up to show a small town next to the beach. Next to the city was a gigantic cliff that almost looked like the side of a mountain. On the cliff was a lighthouse, currently flashing bright light despite it already being morning. The town was filled with happy residents walking down the streets and going to the many small restaurants, shops and food markets that filled the city and lead to the beach boardwalk; the tropical landscape was the main reason why this town was called Beach City. The town was founded several hundred years ago by fisherman after surviving an attack of a creature out in the ocean, making Beach City a national historic landmark.

CUT TO:

EXT. BIG DONUT

One such market was a small store with a giant donut sign called the Big Donut. A place where anyone could get a delicious treat, and it just so happened to be the favorite place of a certain little boy.

Steven (offscreen, screaming)

"Nooooooooooooo!" (his screams comically echo across the area and even caused a quake for dramatic effect)

CUT TO:

INT. BIG DONUT

The scene transitioned to a cat-themed icebox and a thick, stocky 10-year-old boy, named Steven Universe who starred dead center at the empty trays with his glowing pink eyes. He wore a dark pink over-the-shoulder shirt with golden edges and had a golden star in the center with inner dark pink. He also wore cuffed blue jeans with light blue on the bottom and salmon-pink sandals with a small yellow star on each of them, while also being yellow on the bottom.

Steven

"This can't be happening!" (quickly turns around and clamped his hands on his head, his fingers combing through his puffy black hair) "This has to be a dream!"

With his hands still on his head, the dial and first layer of metal of his right wrist pink armband/ watch, known as the Omnitrix (or Trix for short), popped out, glowing as it changed shape into a small robotic form. The little robot dial-head's green energy glowing hourglass design screen morphed to show a digital face that looked down at Steven.

Trix (climbing up from Steven's arm to stand on top his head)

"Want me to pinch you to be sure?"

Before Steven could answer, Trix reached out his pincer hand to Steven's right arm and pinched the boy. Though the small robot's claw wasn't too hard, it was still pointy enough to cause Steven to jump in place, causing Trix to stumble and fall on his back on top Steven's head.

Steven (whines with slight tears)

"Ow!" (turns and checks the ice box, only for it to still be empty) "Noooo!" (he screams again while falling to his knees with tears going down his face)

Trix (sitting up)

"Sorry Steven, I know how much you liked that ice cream."

Steven then rushed to the first person he saw, causing Trix to fall off as Steven ran with an audible "Ah!". The person he ran to in question was a lean and somewhat tall older teenager named Lars Barriga who was carrying a box of ice cream until his waist was hugged tightly by Steven.

Steven (still whining with more tears)

"Lars! Lars!" (grabs Lars around waist) "Please tell me there's more!"

Lars (shakes Steven off)

"Get off me man, I'm stocking here!"

After Lars managed to break Steven off of him, he continued carrying the box of ice cream to the nearest icebox. The teenage girl, Sadie Miller, who was standing behind the counter and had been watching the scene unfold, glanced down at Steven with sympathy as he lay on the flour. Trix just glanced over to Lars with an annoyed expression.

Sadie

"I'm sorry, Steven. I guess they stopped making them."

Sadie felt sorry about having to tell him the bad news. She knew how much they meant to him, having seen Steven enter the big donut and have a Cookie Cat treat almost every day.

Steven (standing up)

"Stopped making them?!" (turning to look at Sadie over his shoulder) "Why in the world would they stop making Cookie Cats?! They're only the most scrumptious and delicious ice-cream sandwich ever made! Don't they have laws for this?!" (he argues in dismay, wondering what kind of sick and twisted joke life was playing on him)

Lars (kneels in front of cabinet and sighs)

"Tough bits, man. Nobody buys them anymore." (stocks shelves) "I guess they couldn't compete with Lion Lickers."

Steven (groans, walking over to the Lion Licker's display case)

"Not Lion Lickers! Nobody likes them! They don't even look like lions! Kids these days — I'll tell ya what!"

Trix (glaring at Lars as he walks up to Steven)

"Well I like Lion Lickers, though I'd prefer it if they could replace the dark chocolate with vanilla."

Steven (not looking at Trix)

"Not now Trix, the adults are talking."

Trix (glaring at Steven)

"I am older than you, you know."

Lars (chuckles)

"Well, if you miss your wimpy ice cream so much, why don't you make some with your" (mockingly) "magic belly button?" (walks away laughing) "Or that stupid wimpey watch of yours!"

Steven

"That's not how it works, Lars!… Right?" (holds stomach, which jiggles, and sighs)

Steven then turned to look at the Cookie Cat Freezer. He sighed as he approached the Cookie Cat icebox and his breath clouded the glass.

Steven (cont.)

"Oh, sweet Cookie Cats," (draws a cookie cat on the freezer with his finger) "with your crunchy cookie outside and your icy creamy insides... you were too good for this world." (kisses freezer)

Both Trix and Sadie stared at Steven in confusion and were both feeling awkward about the situation.

Trix (hoping on to Steven's head)

"Uh, Steven? Buddy, you're getting over-dramatic." (Steven ignores him) "Steven? Steeevo?" (when he sees that Steven is still not licensing, he gives him a quick poke to his shoulder) "Earth to Steven, are you in there?"

Sadie (watching with concern as Steven keeps hugging the icebox and Trix poking at him)

"Ugh... Steven?"

Steven didn't reply as he hugged the freezer. Lars turned from the counter and looked at Steven.

Sadie (cont.)

"Do you want to take the freezer with you?" (Steven nods)

Steven (wiping his tears away)

"What, really?"

Trix (hopping over to the Omnitrix)

"Thanks Sadie, you're always a big help!" (he then folds himself back into the Omnitrix)

Sadie (smiling)

"No problem guys. You both are always helping everyone out in this city; it just seems right to pay you back somehow. Besides, we were just going to throw it out anyway."

CUT TO:

EXT. BIG DONUT

As Steven walked down the boardwalk, he adjusted the Cookie Cat freezer on his back, having used multiple extension cords Sadie gave him to secure the fridge like a backpack. He had been making a great stride, but it was a long way back home at the end of the towering cliff on the end of Beach City. Fortunately, Steven had another idea of how to get back faster.

Steven (bringing the Omnitrix up to look at)

"Ready, Trix? It's a long way to the beach house?"

Trix (giving a digital smile in response)

"Aye aye, Stevo-Doo!"

As the Omnitrix glowed brightly with an activation beep sounding, Trix's dial rose up and changed from a digital face to a diamond-shaped interface with silhouetted icons. Steven adjusted the dial, switching through a few of the icons until he stopped on a humanoid cat. Steven held his hand over the core and pressed it down. The Omnitrix gave a burst of bright green energy which surrounded the whole area as Steven's DNA began to change.

Steven's bones began to elongate and reform, unnaturally changing their shape, with him gaining the height of an average Human adult male. His skin grew excessive greyish-purple fur, with tufts on his cheeks and a black stripe going down his head. His eyes became cat-like, with his pupils becoming vertical slits and irises glowing green. His teeth, fingernails, and toenails sharpened and extended to become razor-sharp fangs and claws respectively. His ears repositioned themselves atop his head and reformed to become rounded like a cat's. His clothes even began changing to become a black and pink bodysuit that covered him everywhere except for his head, hands, and feet. The yellow star on his shirt moved to his chest to become lightning marks that extended to his arms; with a yellow star on his shoulders. Around his waist was a yellow belt, with green bolts on the sides and the Omnitrix as the buckle, with Steven's gemstone on the alien's belly. Once the transformation was done, the green light faded away, allowing everyone to see what the boys had become.

Trix (as Steven/ Quickstrike sprinted down the boardwalk at supersonic speeds while humming 'Cookie Cat')

"Remember Steven, not a word to Pearl about this." (Steven ignores him) "Steven? Steven?!"

As Trix was trying to talk to him, Steven/ Quickstrike passed by a young Indian-American girl; the momentum of his whack knocking the wind and dust around her and making her drop her book and nearly knocking off her white hat. After the wind stopped, she turned in the direction the speeding blur went, rubbing the dirt off her glasses before placing them back in place.

Mystery Girl (perplexed)

"What was that?"

CUT TO:

INT. BEACH HOUSE

Steven (entering his home, having turned back from Quickstrike off-screen)

"Hey, guys! You won't believe this!"

Before Steven could finish, he suddenly was tackled by a monstrous centipede-beetle-like creature with an eye inside its mouth, which attempted to bite off his head.

Steven (yelps as he pushes the Centipeetle back, which roars)

"Waaah!"

Before the creature could end Steven's short life, a whip clad with amethyst shards wrapped around the creature's body. The whip belonged to a short, purple-skinned and plump-lip woman with a somewhat stout build named Amethyst.

Her face was half-covered by her long and spiky light grayish-purple hair, which had several metal stars sticking out; each star was a different size and color. The whip was held in her white fingerless gloved hand, which had purple knuckle spikes and a silver star on the back of each. She wore a black, oversized, off-the-shoulder tank-top with three stars on the chest, two grey and one yellow, with a black bra underneath that half-covered her dark purple amethyst gemstone. On the lower half of the shirt has a stripe on each side that was yellow on the lower edges. Additionally, she wore greyish-purple leggings with yellow stars on her knees, and her shoes were white.

Amethyst (casual)

"'Sup, Steven?"

Amethyst used her whip to yank the creature off of Steven, grunting as she threw it across the room, where the household was split into a temple entrance. There, a thin, pinkish-white skinned woman was battling more of the creatures. Her name was Pearl, and as the creatures pounced her, she gracefully danced around like a ballerina, swiftly batting them away from the temple entrance with her spear.

Her hair was a light pink, resembling a pixie-cut in the front and coming to a point in the back. She wore a light blue tunic with a small gold star on the center of her chest, an aqua blue vest on her shirt and a light blue skirt, which was held in place around her waist by a yellow belt with a small star buckle. On her neck was a blue neckband that had a tiny star in the front. Additionally, she wore dark blue leggings with yellow spheres on her thighs and were tipped yellow on her toes.

Pearl batted away the last creature with the butt of her spear, sending it flying to land in the outstretched power gauntlets of a tall and muscular maroon skinned woman, Garnet.

Her black hair was styled into a cube-shaped Afro and she wore three pointed star shaped futuristic, translucent pink/ violet/ light-blue-tinted shades. Her bodysuit was dark blue on the right and dark purple on the left, with her chest armor being dark blue and shoulder pads behind dark purple. On her right was a small light blue star on her shoulder and a large star on her thigh, the tip of her right foot is also light blue. On the left side of her outfit is dark red flames on her thigh and foot, with a small red star on that side shoulder pad like the other.

She quickly brought the creature in her hands down to her knee, crushing its spine before throwing it against another creature that was closing in on her. To her sides came two more from the kitchen, but Garnet quickly dispatched them with fast and effortless punches. Once they were gone, one pounced on her afro, but she merely grabbed it and nonchalantly stretched both ends of the creature apart until it splits in half and puffed in a cloud of smoke.

She walked away as Amethyst chased one of the creatures and Pearl was trying to yank another one out from under the table. Above them were two more of the creatures and another cat-themed woman, named Cat's Eye, were all three watching a cartoon on the TV while the carnage ranged about below them.

Compared to the other women, Cat's Eye appeared the most human, with skin being a tanned peach and having the structure of a teenager. She wore a hoodie that was greyish brown on the sleeves and going down the middle on the zipper, regular brown on the middle and dark brown on the hood. It had a yellow star on the torso with two accompanying stars on her knees, while also wearing knee high black boots that had a white line going from top to bottom on each one. However, what differentiated her from a typical teen was that she had 3 pairs of whisker across her cheeks, her iris were green and her pupils were feline-based, her hair was a wild lime-yellow, and she had a brown and white cat's eye gemstone in the shape of a cat's head on her right arm.

Cat's Eye (laughing)

"Ha, I love this part. Oh, you guys are gonna love it when,"

Pearl (finally managing to pull the Centipeetle out from under the table, groans)

"Cat's Eye, will you please turn that off and help us!"

Cat's Eye (groans, rolls eyes)

"Argh, fine! Sorry guys, it's been fun."

Before the two creatures could do anything, Cat's Eye pulled out of her gemstone with her left hand a cat's claw and stabbed the one to her left before she spun around and stabbed the one to her right. As she sat on all four like a cat at the edge of the bedroom loft and her tail lazily swayed from side to side, she finally noticed that Steven was home.

Cat's Eye (smiling and shouting, slight purring)

"Hey guys, Steven's home!"

Steven (recovered and setting the freezer on the couch)

"Awesome! What are these things?" (one of the creatures, carrying a pillow in its mouth scurried past him)

Pearl (lifts up the creature she caught to her chest, groans)

"Ugh! Sorry, Steven. We'll get these Centipeetles out of your room. (the Centipeetle squirms as she holds it in a chokehold, but she isn't fazed by it) We think they were trying to get into the temple."

Steven

"Aw. You don't have to get rid of them. They're really cool."

Just as Steven said that though the Centipeetle puked green acid and Steven evaded it, the green acid splattered on the floor then burned through it, making a hole. Steven and Pearl look down into the new hole with cringed expressions.

Trix (still in the Omnitrix)

"Um, nevermind then."

Amethyst (poofs a Centipeetle and picks her nose)

"Um, you guys? These things don't have gems."

Garnet (walking over to Steven and Pearl from the left)

"That means there must be a mother somewhere nearby." (a Centipeetle sneaks up from beside her as she quickly punches it causing it to poof)

Cat's Eye (chasing two Centipeetles behind Garnet, Steven and Pearl)

"I call dibs!"

Pearl (rolling her eyes at Cat's Eye)

"Well, we should probably find it before anyone gets hurt." (a poof happens behind her, signaling that Cat's Eye caught her prize)

Steven (excitedly)

"Oh! Oh! Can I come?! Can I?! can I?!"

Steven wanted to help out the Gems whenever they had a mission or task, which mostly resulted in them telling him that he's too young. Despite the fact he had Trix, and they could transform into creatures just as strong as the Gems, they still didn't want the two to get in the middle of fights.

Pearl

"Steven dear, until you learn to control the powers in your gem," (snaps Centipeetle's neck) "we'll take care of protecting humanity, okay?"

Trix

"But he has MEEEE!"

Pearl

"Mmm-riiigghht. Steven, we've talked about this. If you keep relying on your watch,"

Steven (interupts her, hurt)

"Trix!"

Pearl

"...Trix, you'll never learn about what you can do yourself. You can't just rely on it for everything. What if it shorts out during a fight and leaves you defenseless? I'm just saying you could get hurt."

Steven

"Yeah, your right."

Trix (upset)

"Hey!"

Steven

"Sorry." (notices a Centipeetle raiding the fridge) "Hey! Get out of there! Go on! Shoo! Shoo! Aw! they got into everything! Not cool!" (Garnet punches and poofs it as Steven notices that the fridge is full of Cookie Cats) "No way. I-it can't be! Wha-where did you get these?! I thought they stopped making them!"

Pearl (walks in and closes the icebox)

"Well, we heard that, too, and since they're your favorite…"

Amethyst (interrupting Pearl as she jumps up to sit on the counter, with Garnet and Cat's Eye walking in)

"We went out and stole a bunch."

Pearl (grunts at Amethyst angrily, placing her hands on her hips)

"I went back and paid for them."

Garnet

"The whole thing was my idea." (retracts gauntlets back to her gems)

Cat's Eye (cleaning her left arm with her tongue like a cat while in crouched position)

"It was everyone's idea."

Garnet (not turning to look at her)

"Not really." (Cat's Eye abruptly stopped her bath, had a momentary pause then glared at Garnet)

Trix (popping out of the Omnitrix and standing in the icebox's edge)

"Best. Idea. Ever! You're the coolest, Garnet!"

Garnet (giving a thumbs up and a soft smile)

"Thank you, Trix."

Pearl

"All that matters is that Steven is happy."

Steven (singing, startling Pearl)

"Oohhhhh!

He's a frozen treat with an all new taste!

'cause he came to this planet from outer space!

A refugee of an interstellar war!

But now he's at your local grocery store!

Cookie Cat!

He's a pet for your tummy!

Cookie Cat!

He's super duper yummy!

Cookie Cat!

(lower and mockingly) "Now available at Gurgens off Rt. 109."

Once the song was over the Gems and Trix burst out in laughter and applauded.

Steven

"I can't believe you did this. I'm gonna save these forever! Right after I eat this one. Hello, old friend." (bites into one) "Oh, so good!" (Steven's gem begins to glow) "I like to eat the ears first."

Amethyst (pointing a finger at the glowing spot on Steven's shirt)

"Uh, Steven…"

Cat's Eye (with her eyes having a white star in each)

"Oh my!"

Steven (lifts his shirt and reveals the glowing rose quartz gemstone embedded where his naval should be)

"Wha-? My gem!"

Cat's Eye

"Quick, try and summon your weapon, little kitten!"

Trix (pincers in a prayer gesture and his digital eyes are closed, muttering)

"Please be an ax. Please be an ax. Please, oh please be an ax!"

Steven

"I don't know how!" (panicking) "Ah, its fading! How do I make it come back?! Calm down, Steven. Breathe, don't force it."

He had finally managed to get his gemstone to glow, meaning he was on the verge of summoning his weapon and finally be allowed to be a full member of the Crystal Gems.

Pearl

"Calm down, Steven. Breathe, don't force it. Yeah, and try not to poop yourself either."

Amethyst

"Yeah, and try not to poop yourself either."

Garnet

"Please, don't."

The glow finally faded away, and everyone sighed in dismay as Steven flopped himself on the floor.

Steven

"Ah, I was really close that time!" (sits up and stores his half-eaten Cookie Cat in the wrapper) "Can one of you just explain how to summon a weapon?"

Pearl (singsong voice as she raises her hand)

"Oh, I'll go first!"

Trix (facepalms)

"Oh good lord." (Pearl glares at him)

CUT TO:

EXT. HILL (with a blossoming tree whose petals are falling)

Pearl

"Pay attention to these petals, Steven. The petals' dance seems improvised, but it is being calculated in real time based on the physical properties of this planet. With hard work and dedication, you can master the magical properties of your gem and perform your own dance!"

Pearl holds up her hands over her gemstone in a triangle gesture before swinging them outwards and summoning a glowing pearl blade. Pearl grabbed the sword, swung it down and extended its length into a spear. She spun the spun in hand above her before dramatically setting it down causing the petals to fly up.

Pearl (cont. catching a petal in hand)

"Like so."

Steven, confused, stared up at Pearl. He then looked down at the petals on the ground, swept his arms across and picked up a bunch in his hands, raising an eyebrow as he gazed at them. Pearl's dance was beautiful, but all the big words she used confused him.

CUT TO:

EXT. BIG DONUT

Steven (tosses a pile of petals them in the air)

"Wah!"

Amethyst (holding a chocolate donut)

"Did Pearl tell you the "petal thing"?"

Steven

"Yeah, I need to practice really hard so I can dance like a tree... I think."

Amethyst

"Listen Steven, all that practice stuff is no fun." (bites her donut and talks with a mouth full) "Whenever I need to summon my weapon, it just happens."

Amethyst held her hand over her amethyst gemstone and balled up her fist as if she caught a handle. She then yanked out her multi-tailed dark purple whip with ease, before turning and lashed it out at the nearby garbage container, splitting it into two.

Amethyst (cont.)

"See? Didn't try at all." (Steven scratches his hair in confusion)

Lars (runs out back and drops trash bag)

"Huh?! Again?!"

Trix (laughing and pointing his pincer at Lar's with the other pincer held over his belly)

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

CUT TO:

EXT. TOP OF CRYSTAL TEMPLE (near light house)

Steven

"So, I'm supposed to work really hard and not try at all at the same time?"

Garnet

"Yes." (Steven and Trix remain silent as the wind blew over) "Or... you could link your mind with the energy of all existing matter. Channeling the collective power of the universe through your gem, which results in—"

Garnet then performed a series of groovy stances before she held up her hands and summoned her gauntlets, pumping her arms for effect.

Garnet (cont.)

"At least that's my way of doing' it."

CUT TO:

EXT. BEACH HOUSE

Later, Steven and Trix met up with Cat's Eye who was lying on the roof of the Beach House, having taken a quick catnap before the boys had arrived. They had explained everything the other Gems had told them to Cat's Eye, making the feline Gem look overwhelmed with the complexity of the others' training methods.

Cat's Eye

"So, lemme get this straight. Pearl taught you a flower dance. Amethyst just munched on her food and vandalized the Big Donut, again. And Garnet said a bunch of universe mumbo-jumbo. All just to get you to summon your Gem weapon?"

Steven

"Pretty much."

Cat's Eye (standing up and stretching)

"Well there's the problem; they explained how to summon your weapon with words." (leaps down to the ground in front of Steven) "To call your weapon, you need to feel the thrill of the battle! The pounding pulse in your blood, the racing thrills in your heart and the instinct of the wild!"

Cat's Eye reached her hand over her gemstone, magic surging out as she grabbed the handle of her weapon and pulled out her claw claw. She then crouched down, her tail swaying as she prepared to pounce at Steven and Trix. Meanwhile, up on the Beach House' porch, Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet were watching as Cat's Eye was chasing the boys.

Steven (backing away slowly)

"Uh, Cat?"

Cat's Eye

"Defend yourself my little kittens!" (she roars and leaps at them)

Steven (running away)

"Wahhhh! Why are you chasing me!"

Cat's Eye

"Part of your training is about learning to be ready for a fight, no matter where or when it is. Plus, you still haven't paid for that water balloon incident!"

Trix

"That was several weeks ago!"

Cat's Eye

"No excuses!"

Steven

"We're sssoooorrrryyyy!"

Several minutes later, up on the Beach House' porch, Amethyst and Garnet were watching as Cat's Eye chased Steven and Trix. As Amethyst was munching on a donut, holding a half-eaten (literally and figuratively) box of donuts in her other hand, Pearl walked up the steps to stand with them.

Pearl

"So, how's it going."

Steven

"We're sssoooorrrryyyy!"

Cat's Eye (shouting)

"Don't run from me! Come on, I'll even put by blades on practice mode!"

Trix

"No! Get away from us you crazy cat lady!"

Cat's Eye (shouting)

"What?! Crazy?! That's it, no mercy!" (both boys scream)

Amethyst

"Eh, about that well." (eats her donut and hands her box to Pearl without looking) "Want some?" (Pearl makes a disgusted face and heads inside) "Huh, suit yourself." (gulps down the rest in one go)

CUT TO:

INT. BEACH HOUSE KITCHEN

Steven

"I think my best bet is to recreate what happened the last time my gem glowed. So…" (points at Garnet and Amethyst) "Garnet and Amethyst were here." (points at Cat's Eye) "Cat's Eye was sitting here." (Picks up Trix and places him in the icebox) "Trix was in here."

Trix (aggravated as Steven picks him up)

"Hey wait!"

Steven (ignores him and points at Pearl)

"Pearl was next to the fridge." (Steven crossed his arms and rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he probed his memory) "Hmm. Amethyst, I think your arms were crossed?"

Amethyst (frowning)

"Okay, your majesty." (crosses arms)

Steven

"Cat, you were giving your arm a bath." (she raises her hand to protest but after looking at it shrugs and starts licking her arm) "And Pearl, your foot was like this." (moves it at the angle it was)

Pearl

"I don't think it works this way, Steven."

Steven

"And Garnet, uh…" (moves her face upward, though she doesn't respond as if she were a statue) "Yeah. Then I took a bite of this Cookie Cat." (opens the icebox, grabbed the Cookie Cat he took before, then tossed the wrapper aside) "Oh, wait! I sang the song first." (not singing) "Uh, he's a frozen treat, all new taste, interstellar war, now available at Ghurven's." (the Crystal Gems didn't laugh) "Aww, it was funnier last time." (checks his gemstone but sees that it is not glowing)

Trix (jumping out of the icebow and landing on Steven's head)

"Odd. Maybe you need the full song?"

Steven (sigh)

"Maybe… Maybe I'm not a real Crystal Gem." (sits on the floor)

Trix

"Well, biologically, you're a Hybrid. So," (Garnet flicks the back of his head with her finger) "Ow, Garnet!?"

Pearl (bends down next to Steven)

"Don't be silly, Steven. Of course, you are." (places her hand on his shoulder) "It doesn't matter if you're half gem or not, you're just as much of a Crystal Gem as we are!"

Amethyst

"And you're fun to have around, even if your gem is useless." (Pearl glares angrily at her; Cat's Eye growls at her; Garnet and Trix shake their heads at her) "I... mean, you're one of us, Steven. We're not the Crystal Gems without you!" (Garnet nods)

Cat's Eye (affectionately nuzzling his cheek like a cat)

"Of course, kitten. We Gems stick together."

Trix

"And hey, Gem power or not, you still got me; the Omnitrix!"

Garnet (interrupting Pearl, who felt insulted by what Trix had said)

"The point is Steven is a Crystal Gem, and nothing will ever change that."

Steven (sniffing)

"Yeah, even if I don't have Gem powers, I've still got the Omnitrix and…" (happy) "Cookie Cat!" (takes a bite) "Mmm, so good." (smiles)

Suddenly, Steven's rose quartz gemstone began to glow but much brighter than last time with energy surging from it. Seeing this, Trix quickly lept off of his head and landed on the kitchen island counter. Suddenly, the energy from Steve's gemstone constructed a floating spiraled pink shield in front of him. The center was decorated with light pink rose thorns going from top to bottom. On the center was a symbol shaped like a rose quartz gemstone. When the shield fully formed, The Crystal Gems gave a collective gasp.

Pearl (amazed)

"Steven, it's a shield!"

Cat's Eye (eyes sparkling)

"Rose's Shield!"

Trix (sad, kicking up dirt on the counter)

"Aww, I wanted an ax."

Steven (confused)

"Whoa, what?!" (opens his eyes and saw his Gem Weapon) "I get a shield?! Oooh... yeah!"

However, Steven's cheer stance accidentally launched his shield which ricocheted around the room, eventually breaking the TV. Amethyst burst out laughing while Pearl facepalmed and Cat's Eye ran up the stairs to Steven's room and looked at the remains of the TV.

Cat's Eye (tears in eyes)

"Aww, I loved that TV!"

Steven

"Huh?" (looks at the treat in his hand) "Cookie Cat! I summon my weapon by eating ice cream!" (he beamed holding up the half-eaten ice cream above his head, while everyone else looked at him confused)

Trix

"What!? Stevo, from the time you found me in the woods to now, I've seen you eat Cookie Cats a thousand times and not once did it summon a shield."

Steven

"But it glowed twice when I ate it."

Pearl (picks up wrapper)

"What's in these things?"

Suddenly, the house began to rumble. Looking out the window near the broken TV, the Gems, Trix and Steven saw a swarm of Centipeetles scurrying up the side of the house, followed by an even larger one. The shield vanished as well.

Steven

"What was that?"

CUT TO:

EXT. CRYSTAL TEMPLE

The Gems and Steven ran out of the Beach House and turned to look back at the Beach House to see several Centipeetles crawling up to the Temple. And with them was a giant Centipeetle who had a white mane and solid gems dotting its back: the Centipeetle Mother.

Garnet (frowning)

"It's the Mother!" (leaps towards it with)

Pearl

"Stay in the house, Steven!"

Steven

"No way, I'm coming too!"

CUT TO:

INT. BEACH HOUSE KITCHEN

Steven ran back inside the house to grab several Cookie Cats, some extension cords and the Cookie Cat-theme freezer, while Trix reattached himself to the Omnitrix.

Steven (cont.)

"Finally, an opponent to fight, it's been weeks since our last Corrupted Gem battle."

CUT TO:

EXT. CRYSTAL TEMPLE

Back outside, Garnet landed a mid-air roundhouse kick, smacking the Mother's head back some. However, as Garnet looked back up after landing, she saw that the giant monster merely brushed off her attack. Staring down at the magenta Gem, the Mother Centipeedle lunged after Garnet as she quickly descended back down to the beach, ending up crashing head-fisted against the sand.

Once they were on the ground, the other three Crystal Gems quickly joined Garnet as the Mother Centipeetle towered over them and glared its eye. After letting out a terrifying screech, the Mother vomited a spray of corrosive acid at the Gems; though, the Gems quickly evaded her attack as it burned through the ground, creating a trench. She ceased fire as she opened her eye, blinking several times in confusion as she lost sight of the Gems. Turning around, she saw the Gems take cover behind a broken hand statue that had fallen off the temple decades ago.

Amethyst (as the Mother fired acid which poured over the side of the hand statue)

"We could really use Steven's shield right about now!"

Steven (chucks pebble at Mother)

"Hey!"

The Mother Centipeedle ceased fire as it got her attention and turned to see Steven as he planted the freezer, which was plugged with multiple cords to be connected at the house, in the ground and stood brave.

Steven

"Leave them alone!"

Garnet, Pearl, Cat's Eye & Amythest

"Steven, no!"

Steven

"Cookie Cat Crystal combo powers, activate!"

Steven ate the Cookie Cat and chewed it, while the Mother slithered up and displayed her drooling fangs. Steven lifted his shirt so he could project the shield. The Mother waited for his move, and Steven continued chewing before swallowing, but he began to sweat as nothing happened.

Trix (dryly)

"Yeah, I thought so."

Steven

"Uh-oh." (grabs his freezer and retreats) "Aaaah!" (the Mother Centipeetle began to chase after him)

Pearl (steps out from behind the hand statue)

"We need to save Steven!" (the Mother's rear jaws snapped the top of the broken hand apart, forcing her to retreat)

Amethyst

"Can we save ourselves first?!"

Cat's Eye (a wave from the ocean lands near here, causing her to recoil in fear and fur to frizz up)

"We're trapped between the monster and water! Urgh, why do we have to live so close to the ocean!"

Meanwhile, Steven had stopped running for a moment and opened the freezer, unwrapped several of the Cookie Cats and began eating them up.

Steven

"Goodbye, my friends." (eats the last two Cookie Cats and swallowed them. His stomach began to growl but the gemstone still didn't glow) "B-But it worked twice? Why isn't it working?"

Trix (his dial blinking rapidly)

"Uh, Steven!"

The gigantic centipede glared at the small boy, deciding to end this stupid game once and for all. She vomited an acid spray at Steven, who quickly jumped aside and rolled away on the ground.

Garnet

"Steven!" (holds back Mother's back pincers)

Cat's Eye quickly moved to jump on to the Mother's back pincers and started jabbing it with her Cats Claw. The Mother Centipeetle snarled as she lifted her tail and slammed Cat's Eye against Garnet, creating an explosion of sand as they were battered hard away. Pearl and Amethyst pulled them behind the melted statued before the tail could crush them; both Gems were covered by sand from head to toe. Steven stood up and looked forward, to find his unfortunate freezer caught in the blast, half corroded apart.

Steven (gasps)

"No... Oh, no no no!..."

Steven ran over and kneeled as he gazed at the ruined fridge, looking all over the wreckage that was once his joy. He slowly poked the damaged fridge before having to recoil as the electricity sparks, not wanting to get zapped. Steven balled up his hands into fists as he grew angry; the only reminder of his favorite treat was now a melted pile of acid.

Steven (cont. furious)

"Noooo!"

Trix suddenly folded back into his core as Steven slammed his hand down on the Omnitrix's core, producing a burst of green energy, blinding everyone including the Corrupted Gem. Everyone covered their eyes from the massive amount of bright green energy, but when the light stopped, they could see what had become of the young boy and his robotic sidekick.

Steven's muscles, skeleton, and skin had been converted into an organic steel-like substance, giving him the appearance of an organic robotic alien. His arms were cylindrical, with his shoulders being rounded and armored with a yellow stripe on each, while his hands were the size of his human body, black in color with a single four-point star on the back of each hand, and had four pink fingers that were cylindrical like his arms. His legs had the same cylindrical look and gray color as his arms, with his feet resembling his hands though with only one cone-like toe each. Each of these limbs were connected to a large pod that served as his torso, which was different shades of pink and had two large antennae on top that sparked green electrical energy. In the center of the pod body was a black screen with Steven's gemstone and Omnitrix below. The screen suddenly showed some green static before constructing solid shapes, making the formation of a skull-like face with dotted eyes that starred furiously at the Mother Centipeetle.

Steven/ Staticbot (cont. slowly)

"Cookie Cat, he's a pet for your tummy. Cookie Cat, he's super-duper yummy!" (picks up freezer, more aggressively) "Cookie Cat, he left his family behind! Cookie Caaat!" (chucks freezer at Mother and then fires a bolt of electricity from his antenna which shocks her, causing her to screech in pain) "Now available... nowhere."

Amethyst

"Yes!"

Cat's Eye

"The defense is broken!"

Garnet

"Gems, weapons!"

The Crystal Gems produced a bright light and destroyed the hand by the energy burst as they emerged with their Gem Weapons.

Garnet (cont.)

"Let's do it."

The Crystal Gems charged toward the Mother Centipeetle, who glanced at them in horror before they collided with her, producing a powerful magic explosion that parts the clouds away. Mother Centipeetle was destroyed, and the light popped, revealing its Corrupted Gemstone as it fell and rolled across the sand before Garnet stopped it with her foot. She bent over, poked it before spreading her hand, concealing the Gemstone in a pink bubble. She then held it up and it teleported away, being sent straight to the Gem Temple. With the monster defeated the Gems turned to see Steven as he was making a grave for the remaining wrapper and buried it, giving his favorite treat a proper resting place.

Trix

"Stevo?"

Steven

"Farewell, sweet Cookie Cats." (places a leaf as a grave marker. whimpering) "I'll always remember the time we spent together." (stomach rumbles) "Shh, hush now."

As Steven mourned his treaty friends and Trix was patting him on the shoulder, The Gems gathers around the two boys.

Cat's Eye (bending down to Steven's level)

"Are you crying?"

Steven (shouts)

"Only a little!"

Amethyst

"Well, I guess your powers don't come from ice cream."

Pearl

"Of course, they don't come from ice cream. Don't worry, Steven, I'm sure some day you'll figure out how to activate your gem."

Garnet

"Yes, in your own Steven-y way." (Cat's Eye and Amethyst smile and nod)

Steven (shouts)

"I'm okay guys. I just-" (stomach rumbles) "Ugh, I think I ate too many Cookie Cats." (the Gems laughed, Steven laughs anxiously, then retches)

"Quick, he's going to," (Steven pukes) "Uh, nevermind. Gross."

Planet: Chalybeas

Chalybeas is a planet located in the Ileenium system of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. An obscure world far from the main space lanes, the remote Chalybeas is surrounded by a wide planetary ring that casts a shadow on its forested surface. The lush, jungle-covered terrain host many lifeforms, including the Citrakayah, who call the colossal trees and fast-growing roots of the jungles home. Aside from the foliage, Chalybeas' surface featured plains and mountains.

Dominant Species: Citrakayah

The Citrakayah are a species of tall, hairy, feline humanoids that are native to the planet Chalybeas. Due to a constant bombardment of cosmic energies from their sun over the course of thousands of years, the Citrakayah's DNA, cells and neurotransmitters were altered and supercharged, augmenting their physiology. Today, they can think, act, move and perceive in seconds or less, far faster than normal sentient species could even perceive. As such, they can observe the world as moving in slow motion, especially when they are running at super speed, while all others would only see them as vibrating blurs of motion. With their enhanced bones, joints, and tissue, they are naturally born with lean-muscular frames that allow them to handle the rigorous and dangerous extremes of his powers easily. This includes resisting high-level friction, inertia, air pressure, reduced oxygen, vectors, and kinetic impact. As such, Citrakayah are superhumanly fast and can perform highly advanced abilities and improve their natural performance for much longer durations unhindered.

Citrakayah Society: Tribal

The Citrakayah of Chalybeas are typically laid-back and relaxed due to the abundant natural resources and a typically calmer climate. Due to the rather calm conditions, warriors were not trained too frequently in Chalybeas, making them a relatively peaceful and primitively advanced race. Eventually, the Citrakayah tribes, in the face of both the Myrmecoleon and larger outside nations, began to rally behind one tribe whose leader became known as the Nomad King, who helped maintain peace in Chalybeas up until the great war. This form of 'kingdom' is rather relaxed and fluid, with the Nomad King and his lineage being seen as great wise rulers: the most recent Nomad King is Kali Khan, who is strong and willing to be violent but does not let it overrule her judgment. The populace of Chalybeas' emphasis on relaxation became a natural deterrent to the Myrmecoleon and what are typically treated as more mundane and regular occasions are treated with fanfare and celebration.

Citrakayah Natural Predator: Tatzlwyrms

The Tatzelwurm are scaly, reptilian creatures with the heads of felines that are native to Chalybeas. Their scales are a dark shade of green, red, brown and black to provide camouflage amidst the trees. The Tatzelwurm are aggressive in nature and tend to hunt and live alone in natural caves, occasionally venturing into Citrakayah villages to consume livestock and prey upon small children, the elderly and the weak. Their size depends on the availability of food and other environmental factors, with the average size being ten feet long from mouth to tip of tail and four feet tall from top of head to bottom of their clawed paws. The Tatzelwurm only congregate during mating season and leave their offspring only three months after their eggs hatch. The Tatzelwurm are quick and agile in order to traverse their rocky environment quickly, and can leap great distances and can often be seen bounding through the air, racing one another. They have sharp, defined back spines and barbs at the end of their poisonous tails. They kill their prey by surrounding it then simultaneously throwing their bodies, back first, towards the prey, rolling around on top until they kill their prey. Their large size and aggression deter everything, even other Tatzelwurm. If it is hungry, there is no escaping one once it sees you.
