Worth Something to Him
By: M&M's
Disclaimer: I dun own Pokemon, okay?
Summary: She didn't think that she was worth anything to him. She wasn't as beautiful as he was, not as strong and bold as he was, not as loved as he was…So why was she even there? Ho-oh/ Lugia.
One-shot, woo-hoo!
Lugia ruffled her wings and closed her caramel colored eyes, feeling large tears run down her silver-feathered cheeks. He could never love her.
He would never love her.
She wasn't as beautiful as he was, she wasn't as bold or loved as he was, she wasn't as strong as he was…
So, why was she there?
The dragon of storms stared down at the raging ocean below her, tucked her wings in, and plunged into the icy cold water. She didn't want to be here anymore. He wouldn't even know or care she was gone anyway, Lugia thought as she started to sink down, closing her eyes for what she hoped was the final time.
"Dammit!" Ho-oh swore, flying as fast as he could, his rainbow wings beating away the harsh winds that tore at them. He had left Navel Island in a hurry, before Lugia could do something stupid. The heavy rains didn't help him much either. Where the hell was she?
Then he saw her, seeing her close her eyes and dive into the furious ocean waters. His red eyes blazed. What did she think she was doing? Why did she create this storm? Ho-oh snarled, tucking his wings inward. He dove down after her.
The cold water was an icy shock to him. Giving a mental grunt, he dove deeper, cursing his almost useless wings. He envied the streamlined shape Lugia had. He squinted into the water, trying to make out the outline of her body. He saw her, a crumpled form on the ocean floor and he dove down a little deeper. He grabbed both her wings in his talons and swam upwards. He had hoped he wasn't too late. Dammit!
His head broke the surface and he pushed her upwards, until her silver-feathered head appeared. He was going to save her.
She wasn't going to die.
He wouldn't let her die.
He started pushing her in the direction of the shore.
"Wake up, Lugia."
Lugia's beautiful, auburn-colored eyes fluttered open, seeing him standing next to her. She closed her eyes behind her navy mask, "Go away, Ho-oh." she said, sounding annoyed.
"No." Ho-oh said stubbornly, closing his eyes and shaking his head.
"Why are you even here? Did you come to make fun of me?" she asked. Ho-oh shook his head again, sending little flecks of water flying. For the first time she noticed he was wet and shivering. He was waterlogged and his Fire-typing didn't make it any easier.
Lugia's eyes widened. "Oh no, you weren't supposed to save me. Just let me…oh, Arceus…you're not supposed to care."
"Too goddamn bad."
He turned towards her, narrowing a cool red eye, "Then explain to me why I saved you. I do care about you, Lugia." Her head snapped up, caramel eyes glared at him.
"You should have let me die."
"But I didn't though." the phoenix said. There was a long period of silence as they both stared at the raging storm. She wasn't going to die. Not on him. He loved her to much.
"Why did you save me?"
"I love you, dummy."
This seemed to catch the dragon off-guard. She seemed to pause, her eyes not reflecting hate or anger. The winds died down and the raging sea was soothed. A good sign. Then, shaking out his wings, Ho-oh snorted. "You should really value yourself more. You're worth a lot to me." He spread out his wings, preparing to take off. Lugia scowled at him, although she had a half-smile on her snout. She watched him take off.
"I love you too, Ho-oh."
Miles away she swore she could feel him smile.
The End
My first Lugia/Ho-oh fic. All ideas hit me at like, three in the morning *yawn* HALLOWEEN! CANDY!
I like this pairing because Ho-oh and Lugia strike me as a cute couple. I think Lugia is a girl, except for Pokemon 2000. Remember 'Silver' and his mom from the Master Quest series?
