Title: Dabbling in Dictionaries
Characters/Pairings: Jack Harkness, Ianto Jones
Rating: PG - one very small swear
Challenge: tw100 has a list of "50 Most Looked Up Words" from the New York Times. Challenge: Pick one or more words and use them for a drabble. Used words: Obstreperous, antediluvian.
Summary: There don't seem to be many words in the dictionary that Jack doesn't know, but, as usual, that won't stop Ianto getting the last word.
A/N: This is crack. Absolute crack. But, considering the angst I've churned out for this prompt so far, I really couldn't resist.

Ianto glowered, flicking through the dictionary.
"Obstreperous," he announced triumphantly.
"Easy. Noisy, boisterous"
"Bugger."
Flip-Flip-Flip.
"Antediluvian."
"Old-fashioned," Jack folded his arms nonchalantly. "You're going to have to try harder than that."
"But…"
"You think Samuel Johnson wrote that thing on his own?"
Ianto sighed, snapping the dictionary shut.
"Well then, sir, I'm sorry I doubted you," he stood up dejectedly. "I offer you my sincerest contrafibularities."
Jack spluttered.
"What the…?"
"In fact, I'm anispeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericombobulation."
"What…I don't…how…?"
"Because, sir…" Ianto leaned down close, brushing Jack's ear.
"I always get the last word."

If you didn't understand that, go to YouTube and type in "Blackadder + Contrafibularity". For everyone who does get it - it's such a good scene, I suggest you go and watch it again anyway!
