Last One Standing
It was raining in the city. A heavy yet quiet downpour of fresh water from a polluted sky. In this world, he was alone. Water streaked like tears from above. How soothing for a sad heart of his on this dreadful day. His simple jacket soaked and his hood was heavy on his head. Earbuds played gentle notes into his ears, further calming him with their sad melodies. Green eyes were half-closed, dark with mourning.
What a way to be going on with your day. To stand in a wet alleyway where water poured into from the buildings it was between. Leaning against an old wall while thinking of the past. Truly the ex-general should not have been feeling this way. He was merely a game piece on his master's board of chess. A little pawn that had cracked from years of being shut in a closet. Dusty and worn. He had been captured but as always at the end of game, given back. Yet he and his fellow pawns were too worn to use, and had been tossed like broken pieces into the trash. Replaced by new ones so that the game could continue.
Be still now and feel the water
Lyrics echoed in his head. What a nice song to begin playing at his time of despair. Timeless... He wished he wasn't so timeless. He wanted to wear away, to erode. Even the greatest mountains eventually disappeared after years of being scraped by wind and water. Why couldn't he? He wiped off the water that was dripping down his cheek and felt a small crack in his flesh. Was he finally breaking down? He hoped so. He deserved to be so after such a long time. A smile found its way onto his pale face. He pulled down his hood. If water seeped into the crack, it would help wear him away. Especially if it froze. When water froze, it got bigger, and pushed at the sides of a crack, which would make it bigger and make him even more broken.
He was indestructible, but perhaps natural erosion would be the only way? Everything had an end except for darkness.
Yet, he was all alone. He would crumble away all by himself. That was a bit frightening. Quite frightening to be honest. What would it be like to end with only himself as company? To erode away with no one at all around him.
Sad thoughts halted as the tall albino warrior heard someone calling his name.
"Kozu! Kozu where are you?" He went to the entrance of the alleyway and saw Cryptor coming down the street. The robot spotted him and picked up his pace. He was holding an umbrella (probably so he wouldn't rust) and once he got to the warrior, he let him stand under it as well.
"Come back to the main building with me. You're soaking wet."
"...Alright..." He hoped Cryptor wouldn't see the crack on his cheek, he would probably demand to fix it and put a crack sealer in it. Of course, as soon as the two arrived at Kozu's room, the robotic general spotted it.
"Is that a crack? I am going to fix that."
"It's just small crack... There's no need..."
"It could get worse. I will go find something to fix it with. Wait here and let the crack dry." The robot left to go find stuff to seal it. The albino sighed. He had no choice but to let the general fix it. Cryptor came back quickly with a small tube. "Don't move."
He opened the little tube and put the point into the crack. It felt odd and cold, so he tried to push away. His attempts were in vain and soon it was all sealed up. Cryptor even put a bandaid over it, saying that would help prevent him from picking at it.
"Take off your clothes."
"What?!" What an absurd demand.
"There might be more that I can fix while I have the epoxy sealer." There ended up being another on his shoulder blade and that was fixed as well.
"It appears to me that you are beginning to erode. Also your face paint is running and it makes you look like an idiot. I would advise that you either wash it off or fix it."
