ANNABETH CHASE was not one to be jealous. It wasn't in her nature, but seeing Rachael Elizabeth Dare with her made her feel angry... wait... her Percy? No no no no no no no no no. She needed to stop thinking like this... She didn't like Percy like that... did she? And it was obvious Percy didn't like her. She looked over at Percy and Rachel.

She got up and walked away from them. Today she and Percy were supposed to spend the day together, but then Rachel showed up.

Annabeth found herself at Central Park. She sat under a tree and cried as realized hit her. She didn't like Percy. No it was much more. She loved him so much. She wished he had told him before Rachel came along... She thought about the other day when Percy had been tell her about Rachel. "...always looks ravishing." He said. Annabeth wasn't paying much attention, but she heard every word he said. And now it haunted her. Ravishing, a word she knew very well. She was surprised when Percy had used it. It wasn't a common word anymore. "Always looks ravishing" three words, floating around in her head and yet stabbing her heart.

It all made sense to Annabeth. Rachel was funny, creative and absolutely... perfect. "Always looking ravishing." She was by far way better than if Rachel was ravishing then what was Annabeth? Ugly? Yeah that's it. Percy would never want Annabeth... not when he had Rachel...

Annabeth sobbed, her body shaking violently. Annabeth wanted so badly to be with Percy, but he had Rachel and there was nothing she could do about it. She wanted to fight for him, but she knew better. And she wasn't going to make him choose. The choice was obvious... She couldn't get over him, but she'd just have to deal with it...
