Can You Hear It?

Can you hear it?

People talking,

Awkward silences,

Sudden bursts of laughter?

Steps being taken,

Lies being told?

Futures being built,

While pasts are forgotten?

Love spread,

Hate shown?

Tears shedding,

Smiles growing?

Hearts beating?

Inhaling,

Exhaling?

Ideas thought,

Action rarely taken?

What you hear is forgotten,

But not elude.

I know you know its there.

I know you can hear it.

For who can ignore,

The rhythm of life.
