Prompt "Hey Wez! I was wondering, can you do a prompt where Hunter tries to tell Sebastian that he likes him, but Sebastian teases him by pretending he has no idea of what he's talking about."
Almost an entire year passes before Hunter finally works up the nerve to tell Sebastian how he feels. He doesn't know how to explain his feelings for Sebastian; how can he when he doesn't even know himself? It happens on a Monday, the Monday following the Warblers' win at Regionals that is.
He does it right after Sebastian's lacrosse game. Apart from a couple of scratches or two, the senior comes out unscathed (those McKinely kids are vicious). Hunter walks onto the field to congratulate his friend, desperately trying to fend off his anxiety. His insides are twisting in a nervous panic; what had begun as dull ache had quickly escalated into a sharp pain in abdomen.
"Woooo!" Thad shouts, slinging his helmet into the air. "Take that, you assholes!"
"What the hell, Thad?" shouts Sebastian, shielding his head with his arms. "That thing's hard; you could kill someone!"
Hunter watches as chaos breaks out, all of the lacrosse players scattering across the field in an attempt to avoid another trip the hospital. By the time the helmet hits the ground, the only lacrosse players left are Thad and Sebastian.
"-you could've given someone a concussion!"
"They've had worse."
"Really, Thad?"
"It's true!"
"But still, you shouldn't have done that. You just earned yourself 50 up downs."
"Dammit."
"Want to make it 100?"
"Going now!" Thad runs off, taking a moment to retrieve his helmet from the ground. "Gross! Who's the asshole who kicked mud all over it?"
He lets out a swear before jogging off, leaving Hunter and Sebastian by themselves. Sebastian hasn't notice the Warbler's presence yet; he's too busy laughing at his friend's antics.
"Hey Sebastian," Hunter says, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Good game. Those McKinely kids are vicious."
Sebastian makes a noise of agreement, "Yeah. One of those assholes nearly took my arm off."
He rubs his shoulder ruefully, a small frown on his face. Hunter can't help but internally swoon; Sebastian's just so cute.
"So, what's up?" Sebastian asks, taking a swig from his water bottle.
This is it. The moment of truth. Hunter takes a deep breath, "I have something I need to tell you, actually."
"Yeah?"
"I'm not really sure how to say this, but I…uh…likeyoumorethanafriend."
"Sorry, what was that?"
The blood rushes to Hunter's face, and he ducks his head with embarrassment.
"I, uh, like you."
"What are you so embarrassed about?"
"Sebastian, Ireally,reallylikeyou, butIdon'tknowwhattodo. I'mfeelingreallyawkwardrightno w, butIreally,reallywanttokissyourightnow."
"Hunter, you're not making any sense."
Is he smirking? The bastard's smirking! What the hell? Is he making fun of him? Hunter gives Sebastian a scowl and turns to leave; however, before he does, a warm body presses against his back.
"Hey, I'm just messing with you. I like you too."
