Everyone has a dream that fills their heart. A journey they must take. A destiny to fulfill. As close as your imagination exists a magical place where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams come true. It's the World of Pokemon.
There is nothing in this world that doesn't show promise, especially the Pokemon themselves. They exist everywhere. You can find them filling the seas and oceans, flying high up in the clouds, lurking in caves, forests, mountains, lakes, tundras, rivers, grasslands, plains, deserts, volcanoes, glaciers, islands, ponds, fields, jungles, valleys, swamps, beaches, underground, and even many in cities and abandoned buildings. Wherever you might go, Pokemon are usually there.
Pokemon come in all forms and types. They are unique creatures, seemingly made of pure energy that originated directly from the creation of the universe. So many answers are still unknown about Pokemon, but what is known is that they are magnificent living beings that have a interesting role in the balance of nature, time, space, and ultimately, the universe.
Since the beginning of history, Humans and Pokemon have worked side by side together, forming generations of friendships. Together, people and Pokemon have achieved transformations inconceivable before. Entire cities were built, escaping the planet and landing on the moon, transferring energy across the world, and entering an era of technological advancements that brought peace and prosperity to all creatures.
The relationship between Humans and Pokemon is more than just having a pet. Human Trainers and their Pokemon compete against each other in amazing contests of skill and strategy, and the best Trainers might one day claim the title of Pokemon Master. Others may not battle with their Pokemon, instead using them to help out with their daily lives, perform in contests of performance, or simply be by their side as friends and family, living together in harmony. Where there are people, there are also Pokemon, the bond too strong to be split and divided.
Many stories have been passed down for thousands of years about the legends of Humans and Pokemon. As time went on, and society expanded and developed, more stories were created, with the world baring witness to the sheer intensity and strength of friendship that could be established. Trainers of old and new made their mark on history, Legendary Pokemon clashed and fought, and through a long struggle, Humanity had achieved unity and rebuilt itself with the help of Pokemon.
And while there are countless stories to read, very few come close to matching the epic tale of Lane Stevenson.
Well, here we go! For far too many years of my life, I have wanted to write a story dedicated to myself exploring the world of Pokemon and making my own mark on the universe. I never got around to it, finding my writing skills to be undesirable for how I wanted to describe this journey, lacking the time to focus, and reading other stories to find inspiration before I began. I'm definitely not the greatest writer in the world and I know this type of story has been done thousands of times on the website, but I wanted to give it a shot, even if it might take years to complete. Regardless, as someone who grew up playing several generations of Pokemon, I know deep down inside that this is a tribute to myself and to the companies of GAME FREAK and Nintendo for gifting me a world where I could escape reality and immerse myself in something fantastic. Will there be edits? Yes. I will always be striving to find ways to improve my writing or use more vocabulary or try to describe things better. But, even though we are far too late from where I wanted to start, will I give up on this story? No. I might not be the teenager that I once was, who had more time on his hands, but I am still dedicated to writing down the years of thoughts and adventures I had in my imagination.
That being said, I want to make it clear that I am making this story from combining elements from the games, the side games, the anime, the movies, the manga, and several of my own independent ideas and OC's. While there will be plenty of potential spoilers for those works, there will also be many intentional edits that I choose to do to make my story flow and fulfill some of my ideas.
Also, as it is evident, I do not own Pokemon or any brand mentioned in this story.
I would also like to give a small shout out to Saphroneth; I do not know them personally or have ever communicated with them, but their story, "The Ashes of the Past", is a huge inspiration for wanting to get started with finally writing down my story.
Other than that, the adventure begins now.
