It started out as a pretty normal day. Percy had spent the morning with Annabeth, practicing in the arena before she had to go design a few more structures for Olympus. After that, he'd wandered around a bit before deciding to go back to his cabin to clean Riptide. THAT was where it got weird.

He was cleaning the hilt when he heard, "Gods, Percy. Your hands are so soft..." Percy dropped the sword in shock.

"Ow."

Hesitantly, he picked it back up. "Ananklusmos? You can talk?"

"Yes. I can feel too," it said. "Be gentler next time okay?"

"Sorry," Percy muttered. "I forgot inanimate objects could TALK." He stared at his sword.

"It's okay...as long as I'm back in your arms..."

"Uh..." Percy put Riptide down next to him.

"You look really good today..."

"Ananklusmos?"

"Yeah?"

"I have a girlfriend."

"I know. Gods, you don't know what I'd give to have your lips against mine."

"Sorry to say this, but um, you don't have lips. How are you even talking?" he asked, flipping Riptide around multiple times, searching.

"The world may never know. Hey, watch it."

"Sorry."

"So what do you say? Me and you? Dinner tonight?"

"Um. I don't think that's a good idea...I can set you up with my brother or someth-" Percy heard his door creak open.

"Hey, Seaweed Brain! I'm done for the day. Wanna grab some lunch?" she asked, leaning down to kiss him. "Who are you talking to?"

"Annabeth...help. Riptide's hitting on me..." She gave him a look.

"What?"

"My sword...it's hitting on me."

"Seaweed Brain, this better not be like the time the Stolls gave you those special brownies and you wondered how many cities that squirrel had been in." Percy shook his head.

"No, no. It talk. Watch. Ananklusmos?"

"..."

"Percy..."

"Annabeth you gotta believe me! It wanted to kiss me!"

"Do you wanna kiss it?" she asked jokingly, laughing a thought about it for a moment.

"Now that I think about it...yeah. Kinda. C-could ya leave us alone for a second?" Annabeth looked at him, stunned.

"Um, okay..." She slowly backed away towards the door.

"You're really gonna kiss me?" asked Ananklusmos.

"I guess..." Percy leaned down and pressed his lips to the blade. "Mother of Zeus!" he shouted, dropping Riptide. The sword clattered to the ground.

"What did I do? Did I do something wrong?"

Percy reached up to touch his lower lip. It was bleeding.

"Nah. Let's just say I'm glad it was only lips. Please tell me I got your mouth or whatever it is you talk through."

"Close enough."

Percy stood and walked towards the door. Right before he shut it he heard, "Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground. Oh!"

Annabeth was waiting for him outside, the Stolls by her side.

"Hey, man," Travis said. "We heard you made out with your sword." They ran off, snickering.

"Ugh. I'm never gonna hear the end of this!" he exclaimed, running a hand through his hair. Annabeth kissed his cheek.

"Come on, Seaweed Brain. They'll forget eventually. Jason's the one who ran away with a brick." Percy nodded.

"True."

A/N: I didn't like this one as much as the last one but oh, well! Someone else did a Frank/Chinese Handcuffs and I'll probably do the Hazel/Chicken Nuggets. Gods, this fandom is going insane. There's fanart and everything.
