Once again, I made a story that pairs Gretchen with Alex, my OC.

Gretchen's Birthday

Six O'clock in the morning, Gretchen's alarm clock buzzed her to awakening. It was November 9th, her birthday. She put her Hexagonal glasses. She walked into the Kitchen. There was a box of donuts on the table, all of them custard filled. The Grundler house hold had many rules; one of them was that Donuts were strictly for special occasions. That rule, however, ONLY applied in the house. If Gretchen's friends were willing to shell out for them, it was okay. And the birthday of Mr. and Mrs. Grundler's only daughter was defiantly on that list.

Gretchen ate four and had a glass of chocolate milk. She then took a shower, got dressed, and went to school.

"Class," said Ms. Grotke, "today is Gretchen's birthday. I believe she deserves a song." The class serenaded her with the Happy Birthday song. She even got a few gifts from a few friends, like a bookmark from T.J., some Glasses cleaner from Ms. Grotke, and a pack of chewing gum from Spinelli, among others. Then Alex arrived late.

"Why were you late?" asked Ms. Grotke,

"I missed my bus," said Alex, "and I and my dad got stuck in traffic." Alex, while walking to his seat, put a long, plastic box on Gretchen's desk, and said

"Happy Birthday, Honey." Gretchen blushed as she opened the box; she never expected what she saw. It was a diamond necklace. It shined very brightly as the sunlight reflected on it. The shine was enough to get the attention of everyone.

"Gretchen," asked a few girls in the class, "where did you get that?"

"Alex gave it to me." She said, putting it on. The girls then made their way to Alex's desk,

"Alex," they said, "do you have brothers?"

"No," said Alex, "I am an only child." The girls returned to their seats, disappointed. Gretchen made her way to Alex's seat and kissed his cheek,

"I love you," she said,

"Love you too." He said.

At Lunch, Gretchen got a cupcake from the lunch ladies. At recess, she got a few cards from friends. As Alex was walking her to the bus, her mom's voice.

"Gretchen," she said, "I got off work early today, so you I'm gonna give you a ride. Alex, I called your mom and she said you can come too if you want." Alex found it impossible to refuse, as he climbed into Mrs. Grundler's car. She noticed the shine around Gretchen's neck,

"Where did you get that?" She asked,

"Alex gave it to me." She said.

"Your father gave me a necklace on MY tenth birthday, but it wasn't THAT pretty. Alex, you must really care about my daughter."

"I care enough to save her," he said*. Mrs. Grundler pulled into the driveway. Gretchen and Alex sat the on the couch, watching TV. Gretchen's head was on Alex's shoulder, and his hand was on her shoulder.

THIS WAS THE HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY FOR GRETCHEN YET, SINCE IT WAS HER FIRST SINCE SHE MET ALEX.
