Andromeda was as happy as she had ever been. It was her graduation day and Ted Tonk's was in front of her on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. It couldn't have been more perfect, the sun was bright and a cool breeze was blowing off the lake, causing his fair hair to drift a little. God he was adorable. She pulled him up by his hand and kissed him smack on the mouth. "Yes, of course, sim, ken, oui, I do!" She couldn't think of any more ways to say yes so she just kissed him again. When she pulled back Ted was looking slightly dumbfounded.

At that moment they heard a professor shout for them to meet in their house common room for house graduation pictures. They walked together to the great hall where they kissed one more time before parting for their respective houses.

"See you later future ?" he called after her. She nodded with a grin and walked off in the direction of the Slytherin common room. When she turned the corner she nearly ran into her sisters.

She hadn't known Bellatrix would be there, she must have come to see Dromeda graduate. At first she was glad, she hadn't seen her sister in a long time, usually she was too busy serving the Dark Lord to visit on holidays, but then she seen the look on their faces and she realized that they had heard Ted call her .

"Your marring the mudblood? Seriously Dromeda? You're a disgrace to the name of Black. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I knew you were scum from the minute you started dating it, but I had hoped it was just a phase. I didn't think even you could sink so low as to actually marry it."

Bella's sneer cut Andromeda deeper than any knife ever could, crushing all the happiness she had felt a minute ago. Her sister was always good at torture, she always knew just what type of weapon to use. Dromeda was too good at defensive magic to harm physically so Bella would go for a mental attack.

But Dromeda wasn't going to give Bella the satisfaction of seeing just how deeply she had wounded her and she certainly wasn't going to let anyone insult Ted in front of her. She swung her long, dark brown hair over her shoulder and held her head high. She was almost as tall as her older sister now.

"You're just jealous because Ted loves me for me and the only reason Rodolphus is even interested in you is for your blood status." She tried to put as much venom as possible into the last two words.

"At least I care about my blood status enough to make sacrifices for it." Bella said it as though it was a good thing. Her hands were clenched into fists, her right one twitching to the pocked that must contain her wand.

"There's a difference between caring about your blood status and becoming it. I'm more than just my blood. I can be with Ted and not have to worry because I'm still me. You on the other hand, if you lose your blood status you have nothing. You'll be nothing." She regretted it as soon as she said it. She knew it wasn't true, she loved her sisters after all, both of them.

Bella seemed to have had enough, forgetting that Dromeda was the better dueler she reached for her wand. But before she could fully raise it a pale hand snapped out and grabbed her arm. It was Narcissa, both of the other girls had almost forgotten she was there. Now they starred at her, Bella in anger, Dromeda in hope, hope that at least this member of her family would understand.

"Cissy?" she asked her younger sister, it was almost a plea.

But Narcissa wouldn't even look at her. She turned around and walked away, dragging Bella unwillingly with her.

And Andromeda was left alone, she knew that soon word would pass through the family that she was marring a muggleborn and she would be disowned, thrown from her family like the scum Bellatrix now seen her as. But even through her sadness she knew it would be okay. Because she had Teddy, he would keep her safe, and she would never really be without family as long as she had him.
