"Mom come on," Francis whined.
"We just had a family meeting," Resse pointed out.
"The family meetings are always boring," Malcolm said.
"Ugh," Dewy added.
"THIS is a meeting you boys will all be happy with," Lois insisted, "Now I'll say it again. FAMILY MEETING" The boys sighed but they went into the living room anyway.
"Now there has been some complaints about how I'm too strict. Malcolm seems to think that I should reward behavior I want to see. I'm willing to do so but I want to know what reward would motivate you to behave in a proper way." The boys looked at each other.. They knew exactly what they wanted.
"Francis coming home," they said.
"And a car," Francis added.
"And a trip to Disney world," Reese offered
"And a new MP3 player," Malcolm said, "For my updates on research when I'm listening to music. It makes the time go by faster."
"And a trip to Mcdonalds," Dewy added.
"We can do all those things," Hal said, "But they come with a price. Dewy for a trip to McDonalds I want your room to be cleaned every day for a week. I want you to do your homework without complaining and I don't want you to fight with your brothers."
"But what if they're mean to me," Dewy asked.
"Then you tell us and we'll take care of it," Lois explained, "Malcolm for an MP3 player you have to honor every commitment you make for the next three months," Lois said, "And you have to be honest at all times for the next six weeks"
"So if I think you look fat in that dress I should tell you when you ask," Malcolm said.
"Of course," Lois said, "You think I want to go around looking fat?"
"Reese for a trip to Disney world you will have to stop yourself from being a bully for the rest of the school year," Hal said.
"Francis for a car you'll have to make straight A's and have a perfect behavior record for the next semester which leads me to your first request. Francis coming home is going to cost you a full year of the requested behavior."
"Agreed," every boy said. But would they be able to do it?
