Summary - This story, as short as it is, literally took me years to write. I never felt I was doing what I had in my head justice. I'm still not sure. For the Love Shack's 3rd Intentions Day.

Jennifer walked in the gym just as Ronon struck a training dummy in a show of boiling temper. "Care to share?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. She wasn't too concerned. He had seldom aimed it in her direction. The only exception was during Rodney's second childhood.

She took a moment to simply look at him. His dreads were tied back for a change as he cast her a brooding stare. The light caught his eyes just right and they glowed a jade color - Oriental jade. It lent an enigmatic air to him. Not that he needed it. There was a mystery to him even during their most honest moments.

When he offered her the training staff, she took it and moved through the exercises he taught her. The whole time, he followed her movements with his eyes. While there was nothing new in him doing so, there had been something different in his gaze for a few months - or maybe she'd just finally noticed a couple of months ago.

His eyes were more appreciative than she'd noticed before. Something innately female inside her completely basked in that glow.

"Let's work on some new moves today." He stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her to show her the correct stance.

Okay. This was new. Always before he asked her to mirror him. And it was making her damn nervy. A downward swing of the staff brushed his arm across her breast. A step forward or back brought them thigh to thigh. A block across the body had him wrapping an arm around her middle. His voice constantly resonated in her ear.

As nerve-racking as it was, Jenn reveled in it. Something had made him decide to take a step forward rather than the holding pattern they'd been in for what seemed like forever. Neither of them was willing to take a step back, but they were both afraid to have more.

Finally, after thirty minutes of exquisite torture - of which Jenn wouldn't remember any of the fighting moves - Ronon called a halt. It was just as well. Jenn's heart was beating erratically, and she didn't think she could keep her composure for much longer.

He grabbed a water bottle he'd stashed and took a long drink. As Jenn watched his throat work, she just about grabbed him and nipped her way up his neck.

She had to clear her own throat twice before she felt she could speak. "So, you want to have dinner with me sometime?" Well, if he could change their pattern, so could she. "I mean, I'm not a great cook or anything. Maybe something from the Mess Hall in my quarters?"

Ronon shot her a surprised look. "I'll be at your door tonight. What time?"

"Come by at eight." Jenn could not believe this was happening.

"I'll be there," Ronon grinned.
