Choice
Jasper knew exactly what he would tell Alice if she ever found out.
He had rehearsed the same words over and over in his head, so many times.
"People change, Alice."
Yes, people did change. But vampires didn't, not physically, at least.
Jasper would stay the same for the rest of his existence.
So could he really tell Alice that he'd changed?
Leah changed from human to wolf every day. It was one of the things Jasper envied. The ease of change, something he would never have.
He'd chosen this life, life with the Cullens, life with Alice.
Change wouldn't come so easy for him, not after all these years.
But he would choose differently now.
