Sophie sat in her rocking chair watching Markl practice his magic. "Sophie..." He said getting up from his table and going over to her. "Yes Markl?" She asked stroking his hair back. He looked up at her shyly and down at her large dome of a stomach. She looked at him for a moment confused then chuckled. "you want to feel the baby again huh?" She asked rubbing her belly lightly. He nodded looking down at the ground. She smiled and took his hand lightly and set it on her stomach where the baby was moving. "Wow!" he said smiling big. "Howl says were having a girl." Sophie said happily. "Really?" Markl asked in ahw. She nodded. "I cant wait!" He said with a small jump of excitement. "Just a few more days until shes due. We'll let you hold her ok?" She offered and he quickly nodded and ran back to practice his magic with an old dog now following him. Howl walked in through a red door and smiled. "I got some stuff to finish setting up the crib with." he said holding up a bag as he walked over and kissed Sophie gently and pat her belly. Sophie smiled. "I think your more excited the me Howl." "How so?" he asked her confused. "The fact you wont let me see her room is one reason." He laughed. "That's because I want it to be a surprise." He said and kissed her cheek. She smiled. "Alright." She chuckled rubbing her belly again. He nodded. Later that night sophie woke up with a strange cramping. She got up to use the bathroom then checked on Markl who was sleeping quietly in his bed curled up to a large fluffy pillow. Sophie smiled some and stroked his hair lightly before leaving the room and going to the living room. She sat down in front of calsifer who was pulling up another log. "Hey Sophie. What are you doing up?" he asked her curiously as she took a seat in her rocking chair. "I don't really know." She said with a faint chuckle as she rubbed her sore belly. "Oh alright." he said popping a twig into his mouth. She nodded and winced as a sharp pain wracked through her body. "Are you ok?" Calsifer asked her. "Yes. I'm fine. She just kicked a bit too hard." "Oh. Ok." He said not believing her. She nodded and went back to bed with Howl. The next morning the pain came again. But she ignored it and went about her normal morning. That afternoon before she knew it she had hit the floor to her knees in pain. Howl ran over to her. "Sophie are you ok?!" He asked worried. She nodded and gripped his hand. "Help me to the bed..." She said weakly now knowing what was wrong with her earlier. He helped her to the bed and looked at her. "Better?" he asked still worried. She nodded and took his hand gently. "Yeah... she just wants to come meet her daddy now..." She said smiling some. He looked at her surprised. "You mean now?!" He asked. She nodded as she rubbed her belly. He quickly sent Markl to fetch the doctor and got Sophie ready. She smiled up at him weakly as the pain took over her body. Later that night she gave birth to a small baby girl with silver hair. Sophie smiled and kissed her head lightly handing her up to Howl so she could rest. He held her close and stroked her hand lightly. "Ember..." Sophie said quietly as she dozed off. Howl chuckled lightly and looked at the baby who squirmed in his arms. "Guess mommy chose your name already huh Ember" he said and kissed her head softly as she too fell to sleep.
