Alice couldn't sleep. All she thought about was Cyrus. Where was he? Was he alright? Why didn't he try to contact her sooner? These questions and many more rattled on her mind. She looked over at Knave to him fast asleep. There was something troubling about him. Yes he was helping her and she was very grateful but still he was hiding something from her. it must have had to do with the wanted posters. What she didn't get was that he didn't seem to trust her with what it was. Did he kill someone? Maybe he stole something of great value? This only added to the questions in her head.

She looked up at the stars in the sky and thought it was funny how the stars in wonderland were some much brighter and numerous than in England. She couldn't find any of the constellations she knew in the sky. It was as if they didn't exist.

Sometimes she wondered if she really existed at all in wonderland. At times she thought she was nothing more than figments of people imaginations. That they were all making her up. Sometimes Alice thought she was just making up wonderland and that it didn't really exist. Cyrus, Knave, even the White rabbit were all parts of her own mind.

When Cyrus had supposedly died, she truly believed that nothing she saw was real. She wanted to believe it was fake. That was all she wanted to believe. And now she didn't know what to believe. She wanted to believe that Cyrus was alive and that wonderland was real. She wanted to believe that this all existed and that she wasn't just making it up. Yes this is what she wanted to believe.

As the night drew on Alice began to get sleepy. Her eyelids were growing heavy and head was slowly filling with thoughts of sleep. but she was afraid to sleep. she was afraid that she would wake up and find herself in the asylum once more where people thought her crazy. She was afraid that it would be true and Cyrus really never did exist. She was afraid of all of this.

She looked back over at Knave and reached a hand out. If she could touch him, then he was real and this wasn't a dream but if she couldn't… well she didn't want to think about that. she reached out slowly with a shaky hand and carefully grazed her hand against his jacket. She could feel the fabric beneath her fingers.

She smiled. This was real. This did exist. Everything around her existed and she existed with inthis land. She existed in wonderland.
