Chapter 1: Tear

Back in her childhood…

"No fair! The kids in town always bully me!" cried Tear. "Well, It's not their fault that you don't use magic…" mumbled Velderoth. "Velderoth, I thought you were her friend," sighed Kyle. "You aren't supposed to make her feel worse…"

At that moment, Fenelle spoke. "Young Velderoth, do not tease Tear of the way she was born. She never wanted to be this way." "That's true…" Velderoth said, ashamed.

"Hey! Why don't we go to our secret hideout!" suggested Kyle, trying to lighten the mood. The three friends walked all the way to their hideout, stashed with all sorts of stuff, like crates holding monsters, and maps. It was basically a few trees with an old blanket draped over them.

A giant telescope settled on the top of their little makeshift fort, aiming directly at the twinkling stars. I never get tired of this view, thought Tear. It reminds me of those sparkly rocks Velderoth and Kyle always get for me.

Several years later…

Kyle, Tear, and Velderoth were all at their hideout. Tear yawned. "Can't we just take a nap or somethin'?" she whined. "Seriously? Kyle and I are knights now, and you still want to just nap?" Velderoth exclaimed, slightly shocked and slightly amused.

Tear punched his shoulder. "I'll never be a knight. I can't use magic like you guys." "Kyle, what do you think of this?" No one responded. "Kyle?" Kyle was looking towards the East Sanctum, his eyes narrowing.

Tear and Velderoth walked over. "I sense something wrong..." Kyle half-whispered. "I'm sure there's nothing, but there's nothing better to do." Velderoth replied.

The three (Velderoth called them the Heliseum Force) ran all the way to the East Sanctum. "See? Just like I predicted. There's

nobody…who are those people?" Velderoth asked, pointing to a group of red cloaked men.

They looked over a rock, and sure enough, there were cloaked men talking quietly, as if they were scared somebody would hear them. "We'll just take the relic and get out of here." Tear heard a bearded priest from the group say. "I heard it's cursed," replied one of the others.

The rest of the conversation got cut off from Tear's hearing. "I'll run and get some help," Velderoth whispered to Kyle and Tear, then running off towards town.

"We've got to stop them!" whispered Tear. She ran out to try and stop the Nefarious Priests. "NO!" yelled Kyle. Too late. Tear reached out for the relic. There was a giant burst of light, and all was quiet.
