REYNA

'Really?' I groaned, as Octavian piled a huge heap of paperwork onto my desk. Some demigods have either dyslexia, or ADHD. A few have none of these, like Frank Zhang, son of Mars. Me, I fell into to the category of both. My brain was meant for Latin, not English, and being the daughter of Bellona, the Roman war goddess, I had excellent battle skills and reactions, which also meant excellent levels of ADHD. Being praetor, I try not to show how I struggle with it. I had spent the last hour filling out forms, signing papers and writing letters for Camp Jupiter, and I just couldn't sit still or concentrate for any longer!

'You know Reyna, if you made me praetor, I could do all of the paperwork for you," Octavian replied, a smirk crossing his pale face as he flicked his blond hair, and stroked one of the teddy bears on his belt, a fluffy panda that looked a lot like Percy's pillow pet (R.I.P. Percy Jr). Octavian didn't have a godly parent, instead he was part of the Legacy of Apollo, because his great-great grandad was Apollo. Therefore, he didn't have the dyslexia and ADHD that most demigods had.

I shot Octavian the glare that I reserved specifically for this occasion. "How many times do I have to tell you, NO!"

"Jason won't come back you know," Octavian taunted. "He'll go to Camp Half-Blood with that daughter of Venus. The Greek. What was her name?" He smiled cruelly. "Pippa?"

"PIPER!" I shouted through gritted teeth. Quick as lightning, I unsheathed my dagger, and held it to Octavian's throat, and pressed it gently against his flesh, so it drew a slight amount of blood. I whispered into Octavian's ear. "If you ever speak about Jason like that again, I won't be so gentle next time."

Octavian gulped, but then smirked. He knew he had hit a sore spot. Jason Grace was my fellow praetor, my other half. Praetors had been known to become romantically involved, and Jason and I were very close to becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. But then Juno got involved, swapped Jason with Percy Jackson, a Greek from Camp Half-Blood. Then Jason fell in love with a Greek girl, Piper, Percy became praetor and then turned me down for a blonde called Annabeth, a daughter of Miner—sorry, Athena(who is actually alright, I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me she was Roman, not Greek) and I was left alone.

I heard a timid knock at the door. Immediately, I let go of Octavian, sheathed my dagger, straightened my toga and mentally cursed myself. Oh gods Reyna, this isn't the way a praetor should be acting, you stupid idiot! I turned around to see who was at the door. I saw the small figure and tight brown curls of Aurelia, a twelve year old daughter of Ceres, a first year here at Camp Jupiter.

"The Argo II is here, Reyna," Aurelia said softly, with a voice that would coax flowers out of the ground. "They are requesting permission to land."
