When Rue Died

This is what happened when Rue dies in Katniss' arms. This is my first FanFic, please tell me what you think!

When Rue Died

"Sing." I mouthed, a tear dropping from my eye.

She hesitated, wiped her tears, then she started.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow,

a bed of grass, a soft green pillow.

I imagined her song in my mind, with my family,

friends, Peeta, and Katniss.

Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes,

and when again they open, the sun will rise.

I looked at the sun above me, and it was as high,

as it's ever been..

Here it's safe, here it's warm,here the daisies, guard

you from every harm.

I imagined daisies all around me.

Here your dreams are sweet, and tomorrow brings,

brings them true, here is the place, where I love you.

My eyes fluttered shut, and my breath was scarce.

I imagined myself surrounded by everyone important

to me…laughter and smiles filling the meadow air.

Katniss and Peeta holding hands, as were my parents.

Forget your woes, and let your troubles lay, and

when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

Then, I felt at peace, calm, not worried anymore,

Here it's safe,

My breathing slowed,

Here it's warm,

I felt something overtake me,

Here the daisies, guard you from every harm,

Happy in my meadow, no logger in immense pain,

I'll miss you mother, father, friends, siblings. Thank

you Katniss for being a friend.

Here your dreams are sweet, and tomorrow brings

them true…Here is the place where I…love you…

Then, when she finished, in my meadow, I looked over

at Peeta and Katniss together. Peeta kissed Katnis…

then I died.
